I'm lost I thought dynamic and static were the same and they mean that your IP changes everyti'me you connect to the internet (I have AOL and IE if that matters)

hard way:I'm lost I thought dynamic and static were the same and they mean that your IP changes everyti'me you connect to the internet (I have AOL and IE if that matters)
look go to cmd-> ipconfig there you will see you ip, now turn off your modem for 12h (or more (or less)) connect to the internet again andchack your ip again.
Easy way:
network connections -> r.click on your connection -> roto networking tab -> highlight tcpip -> click properties and now you will see in the above part of the window
(x) obtain ip automaticly (dynamic)
(x) specify ip. ... (static)
