Can a person hack a computer with a proxy through the proxy's IP? My computer was acting wierd with it on and my computer was doing stuff then I took the proxy down and it's fine.... plus, how can you tell if you have a dynaminc (static) IP?

I'm lost I thought dynamic and static were the same and they mean that your IP changes everyti'me you connect to the internet (I have AOL and IE if that matters)

hard way:
look go to cmd-> ipconfig there you will see you ip, now turn off your modem for  12h (or more (or less)) connect to the internet again andchack your ip again.

Easy way:
network connections -> r.click on your connection -> roto networking tab -> highlight tcpip -> click properties and now you will see in the above part of the window
(x) obtain ip automaticly (dynamic)
(x) specify ip. ... (static)
