Now I'm not a fan of animals. I'm one of the most Anti-PETA, Anti-Vegan, members on this board. Hell, my dad even has worked at a chicken company for 10 years and is still working at one. I used to work as a meat tester for him, and I love meat. I don't understand the point of veganism, because your just killing them at wheat harvest anyways via starvation. But anywho, now that I made that loud and clear, heres my opinion on the situation:

PETA is nuts. As BRKN said, they'll endorse fish rights. Hell, PETA will endorse anything if it involves "ethical treatment of animals" by their standards. So really, it's just a bias hunk of crap. If you want to be politcally correct like everyone has been since human civilization, hunt the animal and if it threatens you, kill it. If your hunting it for ivory or game, thats another story. If your hunting it because you want to feed your family, then thats "ethical." It's the circle of life, and it happens for a reason, go figure.

As for the situation. Well to put it short, the lady shouldn't be trying to groom a tiger, and the tiger wants to be dominate. Even though the tiger was a danger, so are all animals then. When a tiger feels threatened, by god its the womans fault. Animals arent humans, theyre dumb. They also lack a learning capacity like humans, so it's not worth even the argument.

Of course, when a tiger kills a human, what do humans feel? They feel threatened. They could let it out in the wild, but what would happen if they try at it again? Sure, it wouldnt bother someone, but since when have humans thought with their brains? If something kills something, put it out of its misery. Just don't brutally kill it.

I thought it was stupid of her to try and groom a tiger... what was the point anyway? They groom themselves. For a tiger breeder (what an odd job - did people buy them as pets from her, or was it for zoos?) it doesn't sound like she knew an awful lot about what she was doing.

As for PETA, I don't agree with a lot of the things they campaign for nor how they do it; I'm sure they could focus on animal welfare in a more worthwhile way (and also, concentrate on more important animal cases than fishing).

Hahah... this reminds me of the time I found a baby sparrow in the middle of the road near my house. I wasn't sure what to do with it, so I called the RSPCA and the conversation went:

"Oh, a baby bird? It would be better to leave it where you found it."
"It's in the middle of a goddamned road!"
"... oh."

Eventually, all I could do was move it somewhere more out of the way... I hope it was okay. :(

I was also recommended to put down a baby rabbit we found (it was only 10 days old) because apparently it wouldn't survive. But no, we didn't put it down, we hand-reared it and it grew up to be very healthy and it now lives in an animal sanctuary. So sometimes they get things wrong!

Well maybe the tiger had a thorn in it or something stupid like that?

And we've found loads of baby birds around my house (thanks to the cats <_<) and there isn't anything you can do really, if you want to, you can put them in the shed and leave some food and water with them and hope they get better.

My Dad did that after finding a bird with a broken wing, and took all day by feeding it and making sure it was alright, at the end of the day, the bird flew and my Dad was really happy, then a sparrow came down took it and flew off.

Animals suck.
