Hmmm... actually.. come to think of it... a lot of those numbers seem very off. What source did you use?

If you want to be technical, a type of ANEB (Anti Nuclear Energy Bacteria) is probably going to be designed in the future by some dumbass, resulting in the end of that threat. Manbearpig is the only real threat anyways. I'm super serial.

Even with something like this a Nuke would still be deadly effective. Take the Abomb for example that was dropped over Nagasaki killed 60k people instantly and that was from the blast. It then killed well over 60k more from the radiation over the next few days. The Nuclear bombs of today are way more powerful on a blast level. The nuclear aspect of it is actually a un wanted side effect.

Actually, youd need way more than 10. More like 100, if you want to take out a good chunk of the world. Even then, there would still be quite a few people left.

This really goes to how big the nukes are. Every ones nukes are going to be different. For example Russia may have 4500 more nukes then us, but that doesn't mean that they are any where near the strength of the US's.

For example we have these subs called the Triton subs *recently declassified* That carry ten nuclear war heads on them. Each sub has enough nuclear fire power on it to destroy every major COUNTRY in the world except for the US and the former USSR. Back when ever I read the story about the Triton subs their where ten *known* subs under the US commands. It was projected that another 25 would be created by the year 2010. Also you have to know that this is unclassified information, so by now chances are very high that we have something bigger out their.

You just have to remember that its not the number of nukes, but more the power of the nukes.

All though I really don't think that it matters on size or number, since its going to go like this.

    Someone launches nuke -
Someone else responds with nuke -
Someone else is like Shit guys and launches a nuke -
It spreads like wild fire and half the world is gone -
Australia is like WTF Mate and then we have the end of the world -

    The end.....

they are the NRDC figures as of 2005

All the figures are by the nature of the game essentually guesses, China for example do not publish any data about their force strength

the most accurate is Russia as they have opened all their archives - Even America are suspected of not publishing their full force (even tho they have signed a treaty that required them to)

Exactly and I still swear that Israel has still not admitted that they have nuclear weapons. I can't think that these would be too accurate...

Yeah, I am pretty sure that we will never revel our full force. That's just not smart for any country. All though much is known their will always be secret stuff.

What treaty are you talking about? I know their was a few that stated that we could not conceal nukes, but that was all that we where not allowed to hide.

Trust me, we have stuff that makes nukes look like toys.

    Exactly.

I like to think that us Americans are to smart to ever use any weapons of such destruction, but I guess their is always that chance that stupidity among our normal status could occur.

Its something I've worried about for a long time now. Its obvious that WW III if brought up will be Nuclear. Thus end of the world. Its an interesting topic however and I've based the book I'm writing on this subject.

Just a couple of nukes around the world won't do shit. It'll wipe out a few cities but not alot.

Now, 100 nukes per country and THAT is the end of the world :).

I have such an appropriate link for this (Here) :funone:

    Sorry, couldn't resist.

I always thought USA had the most nuclear weapons, but go Russia...I guess o-o''.

I can't believe us Brits have less nukes then France, thank God we're friends with the Americans o-O.

I actually honestly don't think nuclear war will happen. Countries having nukes is like 10-year-old Chavs having them soveriegn rings and strutting around. Meant to suggest that they're not to be messed with, but they won't seriously do anything because it's too dangerous :p.

The reason Australia dont have none is because its a mixed ass country I live in Australia.

But Iraq,Iran have bombers all over the place >< which pisses me off but they have nukes too but there isnt going to be another war if so it aint nuclear.

But Russia has the most for sure.

Are you crazy? What do you think would happen if say the US was nuked in New York? That area would be whipped off the map and we would be left impared for a few good hours. Of course in this time the nukes would be heading towards some where else, but we would have no time to logically think about whats going on. Destrection isn't nothing compared to precision.

argh..I don't think my country has one, in fact we are in debt to US >.<..

LOL...In Debt to the US. I didn't know their where any countries out their like that. Its ok, just wait a year and we will give you the cash you owe us so that you can pay us back.

Disease Warfare (AKA scud missiles) and some other names, are the worst things that I would be scared of. I mean, you would die a slow and painful death, and you would probably end up killing yourself.

That doesnt sound like an accurate chart of how many missiles each country has. :( Read the article that Mumei suggested. It has some interesting things in there. :p
