What type of internet server do you have?
EDIT: By that I mean Dsl, Cable, dial up etc.

It doesn't matter..just use a proxy.

some people say that they cant use a proxy with dial up...I dont think thats true but I wouldnt know, when I had dial up I didnt even know what an ip wasIt doesn't matter..just use a proxy.

The differneces are if you have a LAN internet setting you then have to go to lan settings.
Open internet explorer. Go to tools/internet options/connections tabs then if you have dial up, or a VPN it should already be specified. If that is the case, go to settings, and selct to use a proxy. Use a good working proxy (I'm sure someone here knows some good ones), and check the automatically detect settings. That should overide your normal settings. If ou don't have one of those connections just click on the LAN settings in the connection tab area, and follow the same advice.
To change it back I believe all you have to do is uncheck the automatically detecting settings box.
To check if you have done it right go to ipchicken.com It will tell you your ip address.

proxy switcher??? I don't use anything like that. I didn't even know they existed

go to www.proxify.net from there you can go anywhere with there proxy server. you dont have to change any internet settings on your comp.
