I'll give if I honestly think my money is going towards something. I honestly don't like seeing people that bad off, and it feels nice to help them smile.gif

"Yes, if I honestly thought he would buy food/bus fare with it."

I would happily give them some money if I'm sure that they would buy food with it.
Some of them just buy drugs or beer with it though x_x

Yes. When I see movies with friends we go to the Woodinville Cinemas and then go to Starbucks. There is usually a hobo at the corner there. So we walk over and offer him a coffee. Daddy pays for it =D

Yes you should. Not everyone has the opportunity to go get a good job. Unless the guy's smoking/drinking or high I'll give him/her my spare change.

I would donate to more the people who've had their homes taken away... but if you're living on the streets the chances are you didn't try hard enough when you were in-school, so you couldn't get enough money from a scabby job and quit.

Even if you didn't have the chance to go to school, I probably wouldn't donate... it's not my problem that you wasted your life not trying...

Lol yes Hobo everyone DOES have an opportunity to get a good job. He should use the money he gets to hmm maybe go down to ross or marshall's and get a decent outfit, then go to the ymca and shower. I think that everyone can get a job. Even if its at McDonalds. I mean that's how they get started. My Dad used to be a hobo now he works for microsoft and we have a nice house that costs 700k+ and are moving into 1.2 Million dollar house next August.

Anyways my point is that anyone can stop their addictions and clean up their act a little.

Just to comment on the first line of that post:
Not EVERYONE gets a good chance at school, zachafer, and looking at your post you sound pretty damn wealthy so you probably wouldn't understand too well that some families have a hella load of trouble sending their kids to even the cheapest of schools.

Never, im not going to support them not wanting to do anything in life. Its very likely they chose to be a hobo because they dont give a shit about life, and choose to not do anything.

If a hobo asked me for money or for food, i would tell him torelocate near a buisness that have carts where you have to put a quarter in it, and tell him to return the carts for the quarters O.o atleast its a start O.o

300th post, yay.

Now back to topic. You dont relize, a lot have mental illness and things like that. Like alchole addiction, and they need help but cant get it. Its like this woman who had an illnes that was cured by physcology, and now she is earning good money.

Not giving, well you could say its a bit snobish but if you dont have much and cant spare a bit of cash then thats ok. If your using the excuse they will spend it on drugs, then buy them the food and give it to them. I remmeber watching a tv show by Michael Moore (The Awful Truth, very funny) and it showed in a country, the homeless are given an all weather mobile home.

And sometimes, it mighten be there fault. There parents might have died, or they could have had bad upbringing, or born with illness. Stuff like that.

Think of it this way. I work 30 hours a week and earn my money. A hobo begs for money probably 100 hours a week. Why should I give him money? just because he asks for it? Almost every hobo has the ability to get up off their ass and get a job, but most dont. If a bum has a mental disease or something, most of them have help, and are not on the streets. Just the lazy's are on the streets, mostly 1we8.gif

There is 1 hobo around were i live and u feel sorry for the guy but u just no hes gonna go and spend it on drugs / booze . He does get a sandwich from this sandwhic shop but he chucks away all the salad and just eats the meat and the bread.

i thinks its more sad seeing a poor person at the food shop that cant have enough money to buy bread and milk cause they are out there working and arent lazy. Me and my dad were shopping and saw a guy on thanksgiving and he had $10 and he need another $15 to buy his turkey and bread and ect so my dad gave him a 20 but he rejected it and said no i used my money on smokes before but my dad gave him the money for being honest.

If they are going to spend it on food, then why not go to a homeless shelter? Oh wait, shelters don't give out drugs

The downtown area here has alot of homeless people. Some people do really struggle to find jobs. For example, my uncle suffers from depression and has a few other illnesses. It is very hard for him to find anyone to hire him. If my grandparents wern't supporting him. He would probably be one of these "homeless" guys.

I did say that I do always give them change, if I have it.

It's sad that those few who actually use drugs have ruined it for those who are really genuine. What's really sickening is that some people have turned being homeless into a business...
