Im currently running ubuntu live CD, but im buggered because I need to get on my XP got stuff to do. Now whats the best way to get the bloody password back, or even reset it.
I tried Austrumi but when the boot screen loaded I typed in nt_pass and it told me the kernel couldnt load the image. Probably because I mounted it wrong? Any suggestions I need to get on it as soon as pos

Typically, if you can get to the BIOS on a Windows computer to tell it to boot from whatever device you choose, you can do anything you want.

It encrypts your password and then you upload the encrypted version. The website processes encrypted ones and sends you them back.

You don't need a floppy. There's a CD download as well right underneath the steps.

They don't have your password...all they have is an encrypted hash...just like you. Trust me, they're legit.

I would write to a CD if I had any left sad.gif

Looks like the floopy drive is the easiest to me... Ill go ahead and chuck the floppy drive in my computer and give it a go... I might even pay for it so I can have my damn password.

rainbow tables is easy lol, but not sure it would crack your hash though, I never tried... o.o If RT fails, try JTR.
