Run VB6 with Linux

Hey guys does anyone know a program that runs vb programs in linux?

Depends on what distro you get.

Lol... it might be a good idea to actually research something as major as a new operating system; especially since it could easily wipe out your whole partition if not done right.

Distro means distribution -- there are many different Linux distributions, all built off the main linux kernel. For beginners (like myself) I'd recommend Ubuntu.

Google it, you have to change your sources.list located in etc/(package manager name)/sources.list and add the site that has it. Instructions will be given if you look up "How to install WINE in (insert distro here).

If you use Fedora Core use this: http://www.fedorafaq.org/
If you use Ubuntu use this: http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Dapper

I think Mono has a compiler for VB, I don't think its very good though.

I think eclipse does too..But im not sure...THey could have made some plugin for it.

mono compiler is for .NET. Not for VB6

@ZERO: eclipse is just an IDE, not an actual compiler. You can add monodev plugin to it.

Its on the school computers so they aren't letting me install wine crybaby.gif

Lol, Linux without Wine?

If they won't let you install Wine, then that means they won't let you install any other programs, right?

A temporary solution if you primarily want to port the program to linux, and not allow interfunctionability between the two OS's.
