this rule really hasn't done anything but pollute the current topics.

how about rule that makes it so they have to post a topic to become "Member" tongue.gif. that way moderators could delete spam easier, and not have to scan through topics to find spam.

Maybe we can require admin approval before a member can use the programs? Too many people are just spamming old topics to get to 5 posts now. dry.gif

It just shows out of hand we let the leeching become. 1we8.gif We'll try and figure out a system.

yeah this is just gonna mean alot of gravedigging on programs that dont even work where newbies can add good job or something like that

I just set it so they can't comment on the programs until they actually have access to them. Makes sense, doesn't it? 1we8.gif

tongue.gif Now people won't post in topics just saying "thanks for this" even though they have never used the program. blink.gif

This is just an idea, but maybe you can let other members give approval? Maybe Mods / Smods / Full Programmers.

That sound is what annoys me the most. I cant stand it either. My mom was eating a carmel apple a while ago, and was making that sound. I told her to chew with her mouth closed and stop making that sound 1we8.gif She was like "Its a carmel apple, I cant avoid it, you try chewing this," and she wouldnt eat it anywhere else. So I was faced with a tough decision, try to endure it at the computer chair, or sacrifice computer time to avoid the sound 1we8.gif

    1we8.gif I dont use " 1we8.gif " too much, do I?

How 'bout in order to open a program they had to make one post in the past 24 hours- Sounds fair, doesnt it? Then they cant just make five posts and never post again, they must continue posting. unsure.gif

Once its open they can run it past the 24 hour limit, so if you leave their computer unattended for two days or so the program would keep functioning biggrin.gif

I'm pretty sure everyones login code for there programs has to be changed as neopets switched a few things around in there cookies I believe. My login code doesn't even work now, and everytime you try to login in someones program, you get the runtime error.

Too much effort, we have 4 admins and over 1000 leeches. I say we leave the system as it. Let them become emerged in the community if they want to, we could keep on raising the minimum post count but then we'd only get more spam

It will only bring more spam... The community will not see many of the newbies stay unless they have errors on the programs... The only way this system would work is if the minimum was extremly high. Like 200 post or something but even then we would have people spaming the furum like no tomorrow trying to get that bare minimum for the programs.

No offense, but you are fighting a losing battle.

    2 solutions.

If you want to stop leachers make close regestraion. simple

If you want to stop spam and raise activity, they get warned by spamming, if you get warned for spamming you cant use programs or post for a week. raise the post minimum to 50 or sumthing. there you get no spam and higher activity

dont think it will do anything.. people will post 4 more posts then go back to progs then you make them make 10 posts they make another 5 posts and become inactive again...

    Alright, how about this:

    - Minimum of 15 posts

    - If you don't post in x(lets say 2) amount of days, your account will be removed so then you need to create a new account and get 15 posts again.

    - You need to post x(5) messages on the board every 2 days..

    - If one or all messages are spam then you will be suspended from the programs for x amount of days.

    - After getting suspended x amount of times for spamming messages, you will get banned for x amount of days. If spamming still continues, IP ban tongue.gif

    Hope this helped.

That seems awfully confusing instead of just letting people just leech. I mean leechs do more good then harm you know.
