You will notice that the reputation system as well as the IBStore system are both reinstalled on the board for a sort of "trial run". These modifications were not made by us, but by ntd1712 and is posted at Invisionize.com.Reputation System
Basically, if you see something positive a member did or you want to compliment them, give them a reputation point.
Do NOT offer reputation points in exchange for something (ex. make me a signature and I'll +rep you). I do not want an overflow of "+rep" topics on here, and neither do the moderators. If the moderators receive complaints of unnecessary "repping", then the reputation points will be reviewed and either left there or removed.The point of the system is to praise those who deserve it, and reputation points will only be deemed valid if there's a good reason attached to them. A rep point given to someone "because they are an admin" is an example of an invalid reputation point.
The reason we never reinstated the reputation system last time was because it was being abused. Staff can't spend too much time enforcing the reputation system, so as soon as a report is filed it will be dealt with in a timely manner.
Also, punishments can be given out for major violations related to the reputation system, as it is considered a large annoyance to the board (mass reputation spam attacks, etc...). Most likely it will result in privileges removed, but punishments will not be limited to that. So do not abuse the system please.
IBStore
The IBStore in its current form is non-functional as there are no groups or items added (I just installed the core). Hopefully within the next few days we can stock some neat board features in there and some very unique ones like "Add Music to Profile", or "Make Username Glow", or something (we'll open a topic for suggestions).
Oh, and a source of income (some way for users to earn points on the board to buy items) Graphics Leader
The search for the new Graphics Leader is over. The staff decided to put Tetiel in charge of finding herself someone to work with (be co-leader of the Graphics Area) and Balmung was chosen. Congratulations Balmung! To the others who were hoping to acquire the position: The next time there's an opening, we'll definitely reconsider you depending on how the leader is chosen next time.
News/Advertising Team
Staff is currently debating the fate of the News Team. We're currently deliberating on the leadership problem and whether or not to suspend that team as we did with the advertising team. If you have ideas and words of encouragment related to the News Team, please send them to any staff member. We're thinking of extending leadership applications to anyone interested in running for the News Team leadership spot. Details will be provided at a later date.
Yes, also forgot to mention: because the board is closed, the advertising team has been suspended for a little while... don't worry, your applications are all still there and will be decided on at a future date.
)New Administrator
Yeah, you saw correctly. The "lucky" (or doomed
j/k) individual just received a PM on behalf of the administration team to join in the fun of being an administrator here. They will either be promoted or left be depending on what their response is... I'd hate to force them into a tough job. The elements that promoted the decision is simple: The administration team's grown smaller. With the departure of Ali, all that is left is Hydrogen, Noitidart and myself. We're all very busy with school so it's tough to get stuff done administrator-wise.
Plus 4 is a better number than 3. We're confident that this individual has acquired the skills necessary to administrate Neocodex, having been here for 2.5 years. ----------------------
