Is cannibalism actually as bad as you think that it is?
Before you answer this, stuff this in your brain.
Cannibalism is completely unwasteful, it uses the body being devoured almost completely, and it supports life. Cannibalism takes the life of an unwilling victim, but hey, so does hunting. So, what's the difference? Humans have just as strong of an attachment to life as any other animal
so why is it wrong to eat your own species, when eating other species isn't wrong? Every day millions of people are murdered, and about 99.99% of them in that group have their bodies wasted completely. I even think that murder should be legal, just as long as the body is used in full. Of course, people shouldn't eat human brains because you will get kuru. And trust me, you don't want that wink.gif .

So, after reading this, do you think that cannibalism is wrong or right??? drool.gif

In quite a few cultures, cannibalism is regarded as a right after death.

Most civilisations, though, regard cannibalism as indecent.
This is mainly because the thought of eating someone you knew is totally repugnant.

In respect to your point about it reducing waste, that is totally untrue.
With cannibalism, the nutrients etc are returned straight to another human, whereas with burial the carbon, nitrogen etc is all returned to the soil.
The only afterdeath practises which reduce or prevent nutrient cycling is cremation, and mummification, the latter of which I believe is fairly uncommon these days.

But still when we eat them they are still going to go back out in the air, like the stuff we dont use, and even if they go in the ground we will use them eventually in crops ect so its just taking out the middle man, besides people eat animals after caring for them, whats so differnt about this, i have tried human before though, tastes like chicken, lol

Problem:

This goes against a human being's rights to not be killed. That is why things are illegal because they usually infringe upon another person's rights or wellbeing. Why not eat your own species? It goes completely away from human nature and nature's will for us to produce and keep surviving. Also even if you DON'T murder people and just eat them after they die most likely the meat would be contaminated in some way and it would be dangerous to eat. The bodies may also "go to waste" but some people have religious beliefs that their body must be handled in a certain way. Example: I may be wrong, but Muslims cannot be incinerated, I believe but instead be buried.

Also instead of saying kuru, you may want to refer to it as the common American name for it - mad cow disease.

But is not Mad Cow and Kuru basically the same thing as far as symptoms go so they may as well be called the same? Different strand but from what I understand it's about the difference between Marburg and Ebola... which is not much.

Eating eachother?

Oh sure, yes. Im all for us running around eating one another. Why not? Nothing better then an ear!!
Personally I like cheeks. Espesially if they have dimples!!

And murdering eachother as long as we eat eachother? Oooh, fun.

Watch out, cara might try to eat you now. sad.gif

(/sarcasm up until the cara might try to eat you point)

Tribal and primitive cultures know no better, Kitsune. And in their eyes, we probably appear that way too.

I'm not going to say anything more about this topic. My warn level is at 50%, and i'd rather not push it over with my personal thoughts about the matter. Just note, I feel very strongly about human-animal equality.

Reminds me of the story of Abraham when he was about to sacrafice his own son God give him a ram instead to kill. We were given animals to eat so we would refrain from eating eachother in times of desperation.

Hmm I'm going to have to disagree with you there on a couple points you've brought up.
Firstly, it isn't against human rights to be killed. It is against human rights to be killed in a way that isn't prescribed by the law of that country. This means that human rights does allow for execution as prescribed by the laws of the country, but only execution, not murder. (Sometimes there's a fine line between these two but they're still different in my opinion.)

Secondly (this kinda adds to your point rather than disagrees), basic rule of law is that legislation is created to prevent or punish for harm caused to a person(s). In other words, law is created ONLY to ensure that people aren't harmed. This does include emotional trauma. And because of the general consensus is that eating a loved one's remains will cause emotional trauma to others, it is prevented by law.
However, because in some cultures it is not an emotional issue, it is not against their law.

I will never understand how it can be apart of a culture to believe eating a person's remains under any circumstances, is the right thing to do.

Yes, yes. You should know I meant murder tongue.gif
