This seems like a good alternative to cooldude's suggestion.
He wants the rep system gone because once again, people are abusing it.
Not everyone, just some people like zachafer.

So the idea here, is where someone were to report a user for a ridiculous rep, a staff member would look at the reported user's rep logs - if they're abusing it, block them from repping. If not, well, ignore the report.

I would have to agree with you. The rep modification isn't as bad as some people make out to be. I think it's pretty neat

Another thing that some people need to understand is that the rep mod should be not used for 'revenge'. If you get -repped then you should really take it into chance that it "may" be your fault, besides of bouncing another -rep back towards the guy who -repped you.

If everyone adjusts to the rep mod and learns what it is used for it would there wouldn't be a problem.

Or just get rid of the rep system? It's a closed community, every user should know just about everyone. I can understand if regs where open, and this forum were larger. But honestly, a red or green dot shows me nothing about a user on this forum.

Though I guess if the rep system remains, this would be a good modification.

Yea it would be more helpful if we could view other people's rep logs to see what they were warned for... that would help more. Rep mod is good as long as its not abused.

Kinda what i was thinking since we have closed registration and mostly can figure how one another acts in a short matter of time. Usually i wouldnt even care if someone had -rep i dont judge people on what others think i can make the judgement myself.

Mmhm I like this idea but I think we should wait it out a little longer and see if the abuse continues. If it does, this would be a great idea to consider or we could just get rid of the whole reputation system all together, which I really don't want to happen.
