AGP is being outdated. No one is supporting it anymore.
Go with PCI.
And a goo brand of Mobo is ASUS. They pwn. Make sure to get a AMD 64 processor. Thats Socket 939.
1st off, AGP is still slowly being support
2nd off, its PCI-E, not PCI, they're different
and 3rd, AMD64... thats a bit old. AMD64 would refer to a single core, which is even worse.

Intel Core Duo FTW!
I have a AMD 3700 overclocked like a bitch, I dont like it atall. Im definately getting a new comp!
3700 is still good.. if you say overclocked like a bitch, im guessing about 2.7 or higher
I mean 3700 isnt a dual core or anything, but it will still do great in current games (since most aren't multi threaded anyways..
As I like to say, I have a T7200 in my laptop (which is a core 2 duo, merom core which is the same as a conroe, just mobile and clocked at 2ghz) and its my fastest computer I own
