So pointless. Either someone's going to say fu ck and it's going to turn into bark which has no effect since pretty much everyone here knows what bark replaces or they're going to avoid the filter like I just did 1we8.gif

Yeah, I've seen a lot of filter avoiding recently...Idk, I don't use most of those words anyway so it doesn't bother me smile.gif

I don't care if the filter's on or not to be honest. I rarely say bark(on here anyway tongue.gif )so it doesn't really affect me too much.

Is bark the only word filtered or are there others?

They're just words. It's unfortunate that the adolescents who used these words in excess became less amusing and more of a timewaster.

Axe the filters, with all the depressing and sometimes violent crap posted on codex why are we hoping to shelter people from some swear words?

Most of us come from free countries, why should forums be any different?

I say we do a trial thing. Like for 10 days we take off the filter and if swearing is over used during the trial we put the filter back on? That or change it to cranberries like dolphin said smile1.gif

Filters are in place for a reason, remember?

The board ages can vary substantially and therefore the administrators have to filter some language. By all means, bypass the filter if you wish, but you will honestly look retarded due to the fact you want to express a derogatory word so much, you'll bypass the filter to use it.

they ages don't vary too much, and if they do then it's because people are viewing the board illegally.

Someone should make a modification where the users have the ability to choose whether they want the filter enabled or not. If thay are offended by the use of profanity, they wouldn't have to read it.

IMO filters need to stay in. Not so people don't get offended, but so you don't make yourself look like an idiot thinking swearing is an "I Win" button for winning an argument or insulting someone.

I have to agree. I don't need to see people cussing for no reason at all.

It got fast put back in place after those topics about 'Fúck you liberal dickheads' or whatever that some members made I noticed. I don't know why we need filters, it's like everything else, a couple of people spoil it for the many (Even if those topics WEREN'T the reason why they were returned, my point will likely still stand, I'm not outright blaming, just an observation). Personally I really don't swear very often at all, so when I'm pissed off about something and want to give a rant it's REALLY annoying that it gets replaced with bark. I also think it's kinda pathetic that it's the only word that's filtered o-O. AND how easy it is to bypass it tongue.gif.

Who the bark are you to think you have the barking right to post in my barking thread? If I want the barking filters removed they'll get barking removed. Now get the bark out! tongue.gif

Seriously though I'm all for Artificial's suggestion, that way everyone's a winner

I have a question. Why do any of those words need to be said in the first place? They don't add to your post at all and it doesn't make you cool to use them.

Well I tend to use the word bark (I know it got filtered) if I am trying to express anger or I am playfully messing with someone smile.gif
