I'm sitting in school waiting for my class to start so I can promptly learn nothing.

Any particular reason for the close?

Alright, makes sense now. Didn't see this topic in announcements so I was like "wtf, he merged with a nonexistant topic?"

I'm going to have a rather busy thanksgiving. My parents and I are volunteering at a senior center cooking and serving thanksgiving to shut-ins (elderly people who are too ill to get out of their homes or have no family to celebrate with) with some other members of my church. Well actually anyone can go if they want to go, not just the shut ins. Then because of that we're not having thanksgiving at my house today but instead are celebrating it with some of my mom's friends. Then on Friday my sister will come down and we'll cook loads of food then.

Happy Turkey Day everyone! biggrin.gif

Surely you mean "Americans" and not "North Americans"? We already had our Thanksgiving. tongue.gif

Nonetheless, happy turkey day. tongue.gif

They were exactly the same as the Native Americans...

Are you really this annoying or are you trying to piss people off on purpose (in which case you're succeeding)?

I heard that some of the Inuit people find the term "eskimo" offensive, which is why I don't use it. There were natives that lived here before the Europeans came, just like in the USA. So to a degree, yeah. The settlers did take land, but not just from the Inuit but from other Native American people as well.

Not really sure how the acquisition of land from indigenous peoples in Canada relates to Thanksgiving though...
