Symbolic Integration on a TI-83/84

I do know it's possible, just wondering if anyone knew of any program that would automate symbolic integration in a TI-83/84.

....notaclue. I do know how to make little movies on a ti-83 though smile1.gif



try looking in the big huge book that comes with the calculator... it's like 8 inches thick and might have clues in there as to how one would go about it.

It's not a primary function, and it's not able to do it with it's factory applications. There have been assemblies made that can simulate this effect, which is why I was asking.

what do you mean symbolic integration?

integration as in calculus? or are you talking about something else?

Yes, so when I integrate a function such as f(x)=x^2, I will get the answer "X" instead of having to input limits and ending up with a numerical approximation.

oh i simply know it when you get a numerical answer, i never saw it done where you can solve in terms of variables.

Any integration you do without limits is almost always symbolic.

Ah, I have A+ Calc program but that only does numerical integration. Is there one for the 84 that does symbolic integration?

I asked my calc teacher and she said there is no program that she knows of so far that does indefinite integrals...

Maybe in the T-89...

I know the 89 does them, that's why I'm trying to do it in the 84. I know it's possible, because the program I originally linked does it, but that one is offline.
