The staff has decided that all major sections on the board such as neopets, graphics, private, retired, programming, contests and ezine will now be staff controlled projects. We want these areas to really shine and for those who lead them to be in close contact with staff and aware of all staff dealings. We are pleased to announce that all major section leaders are moving up to the moderator position. This means that Redlion, Sunscorch, Eeyore and Freak are now moderators! Congratulations to all four of you

An explanation as to the game sections: Neopets is our main focus and so will be included in the promotion, LPC however is only a small section of the site, so will not be.

We realise that we already had quite a few moderators. We wanted to explain a little on why we thought we needed more. Firstly, 2 recently left our team leaving only four behind as moderators. We also felt that it was time for section leaders to be considered staff. The more the merrier .

Also, we are reorganizing the way staff works into departments and such so that projects are done faster and that all sectors of the board have the chance to voice their opinion properly. More on this in a later news post

From now on, anyone who is considered to be worthy of leading a major area on the board will also be given the moderator rank as well.

Again, congratulations to our newest 4 moderators, we know for sure you'll do a great job since you've already done such a great job in your respective sections

Alright man calm down . He was only pointing out that you made a mistake when you said he had been demoted.

Well that is what happened, right? He was a staff member, and then he asked for a demotion, and received it. Therefore he was demoted. Cory basically used a euphemism to describe being demoted. There is no difference, save the connotation.

What a policy change. When I was programming leader it was exactly the opposite. I was to handle my section only and leave everything else to moderators Spose that idea went out the window.

Sorry but you've misinterpreted my post. The point was that I was originally annoyed by the idea that I was apart of staff yet I was only allowed to tend to this tiny little (at the time dying) section. I'm rather happy they've changed it (although I dislike some of the promotions).

For a year or so when i first joined the site I wondered why the teams where not actually a part of the staff, as they have a lot of control in determining the future / activity of codex. All though now I think we have about 11 moderators more then we actually need ( needed, we actually needed more now ).

I feel strongly that the four new moderators will do a great job in the every day doings of moderator and do a great job in the added responsibilities that has just been given to us.

I'm heading human resources right now which is basically staff-member relations so feel free to PM me and I'll try to compile the complaints and make a case to the admins, okay?
