Well, they do somewhat sell pill THC, its called Marinol. Less bioavailable to the body, and the "high" it gives you is not as comfortable or as good as inhalation apparently, so your point is still valid even though factually semi-wrong. Also I believe it's really expensive, but not 100% on that.

+1 tongue.gif

Marinol is synthetic thc which has been prepared to be orally bioavailable, otherwise it would just be a placebo as the human body cannot digest thc unless a huge amount is eaten which is just a massive waste.

Yes I know, thats why I said "semi". It's still THC and orally taken. But still, the other cannabinoids such as CBD and CBN aren't in Marinol correct? Would probably change it's effects a bit even though the other's aren't psychoactive

My point was more its prepared in a lab I would like to see your run of the mill stoner make them, wont happen till the stuff is legalised a guarantee. Also it does change the effects a lot, pure THC apparently feels much more like a stimulant then it does when smoked with other cannabinoids. Also CBD is a stronger antinausiant then THC so they really should have had that in with marinol and if nothing else it should defiantly be in there with all the worry about it causing psychosis because its an anti psychotic.

Good point, I don't believe there should be much worry about cannabis causing psychosis, would be very rare at best. I'm high right now actually smile.gif

The fact that they are still so unsure about the psychosis thing really says something about the chance of it actually happening with the amount of people who smoke weed regularly. I also think if weed is as bad for causing cancer as people make out they wouldn't need multiple studies to still come up unsure.

I don't believe weed is nearly as cancer causing:

Every study I see seems to compare like 24 joints a day, to a cigarette smoker at like a pack or something a day. I would never smoke 24 joints in a day, maybe like 1-3.

Yes but I'm saying those "weed causes cancer" studies and "weed is worse than cigg's" sayings always use like 24 a day, and I'm saying thats insane and unrealistic. People smoke less weed than tobacco in general. You dont need much to get high if you're the normal person.

Also I read up a lot on one of the more resent studies and they compared the tar content of the whole Cannabis plant to the tar content of the same weight of tobacco leaf. They also defined tar as all the non water soluble side products of combustion plant matter, which includes the THC from a cannabis plant which is known not to be carcinogenic and then came to the conclusion that because cannabis has five times more tar in it then its five times more likely to cause cancer. This is not a fair test.

Yeah, but the average person that's pushing for legalization probably smokes pretty often and thus has a tolerance for the stuff tongue.gif

Well not for the moronic reasons that most of you have posted but marijuana should be made legal along with most other controlled or banned substances

Doing this would allow for the government to actually profit from their distribution and would be able to control what actually goes into the drugs during processing... Less needless deaths more money for healthcare although the money would then be spent on keeping the morons on drugs alive....

    Anyways you're all morons

Lets also start a topic on Why is hanging black people from a tree in my yard not legal!?!?!?! It's not legal because it doesn't have enough support from the populace at the moment to be made legal... and the percentage of the population that does believe it should be made legal are too lazy and moronic to ever get a bill started and then attempt to have it passed

Please understand that calling people morons for their views is not tolerated in this area. Insult their point of view, insult their reasoning, just don't insult the person.

How about just calling the lot of them ignorant would you have a problem with that? also the reasoning and point of view of a person is the person.... insulting either of those is the exact same thing as insulting the person. Is that not one of the defining aspects of being human the ability to reason? So, i can insult the very thing that makes them human, but god forbid i insult them directly?

So, point of view [of a person] and the actual person are synonymous. Interchangeable. Right? No... that's just a little absurd.

You've chosen a bad argument: there are certain rules enforced on Codex that attempt to promote dialogical discussion, and dialogue cannot exist without humility; in line with this vein of thought, the rules, or ideology behind those rules, don't tolerate personal attacks. You can throw oppressive conclusions at someone, but if you cannot support a value judgment (which you really can't), there is no reason for them to change their opinion.

Yeah I don't understand why it's condoned either but it's apparently completely acceptable to diss someone indirectly.. you can curse, you can insult what they say, you can hint that they're complete idiots, but saying "you're a moron" will warrant you a warn, because it's flaming and all those others arn't. Shrug.

    Doesn't warrant a warn.

Insulting their point of view is simply saying you think that perspective is ridiculous and laughable. Saying you think that the view of X is ignorant and baseless because of Y is acceptable in a debate.

Saying someone is a moron is just different 1we8.gif

IDK I just don't think flaming can be judged on an objective basis. You can be very roundabout in your words and still be deliberately insulting to a person.

"Are you actually being serious? Wow lol.. you really don't know what you're talking about. Just gtfo. I don't even want to waste my time reading your bull shit."

    "You're a retard."

What would you say is more of a personal attack and what would our rules say?

Yeah that was rather my point. Since it's an objective judgment,

"Insult their point of view, insult their reasoning, just don't insult the person."

isn't necessarily a concrete guideline imo, because some of us including Tetiel (who's got a more valuable judgement that mine) might not agree with that.

Saw an article on msnbc that showed the money the government would make if it were to legalize, and the numbers were pretty significant.

Not to mention how ignorant that comment is.. there's tremendous support in the U.S. to legalize medical marijuana.. there have been several bills introduced in at least 13 states to legalize medical marijuana. And it has been a perennial debate in congress for quite some time. And how many people in the U.S. smoke marijuana? I think you'd be confounded by the statistic. Not everyone that smokes marijuana becomes a complete pothead and fails at life.. if that were the case America would be falling apart as we speak.
