Well. Since I know you're all thinking it...just promote Cyo to admin and be done with it.

IMO, a mod should be moved up, and a new moderator appointed.

    I nominate Sarah.

    Thread over.

Adding that now that I got my post moved to the right place.
    Seriously shes always here.
I nominate Oaken or Sida for moderator.
    Maybe even Urban.

If you want my opinion I think Laser Wave is well fit to be an admin, though I'm perfectly aware he doesn't want the position. tongue.gif

In lieu of a full Admin council to approve a candidate, the Smods (who don't want the A job I gather) could probably lend you a hand brandon.

Also Cam, I'm intrigued. I can remember when there were multiple administrators, and I remember the glory filled days of codex. The two are are pretty much synonymous. Its been... strange, to see the procession of time here. Admins come and go, but I think I can say with complete confidence that we do need more than one active admin.

Honestly, the rest of you, I'm not quite sure its your business. Well, staffers aside, there really isn't any reason for the vetting process to be a public one, nor for a private vote to confirm an admin candidate. It is traditionally an approval by administrators only, and the rest of us usually don't know about it until it happens.

Usually, but sometimes there are issues with how much power is given to who in the hierarchy. Sometimes it's just very nice to have an admin on and have stuff get done right then and there. Even when there were six of us, I didn't think that many admins spoiled the soup. It was rather fun. tongue.gif

And I understand very well. It was fun, it was fine as it was, but there is something to say about waiting for the right timing. In the meantime it seems like finding people willing to commit to some more responsibility would be good for a few months. That way administration can with pace find some stable solid administration as you were for so long. It wouldn't be bad to try more than one out, but I think it would better come with time?

Well, a potential problem with waiting a few months is that you might not learn anything new in that time. Somehow, the administrators were able to promote other admins when I was a member for only two months (staff for one month), and in the case of Noitidart, five months (staff for four of those). A person has really no way of telling whether or not someone will make a good or bad administrator other than from their expressed intentions and whatever potential they show. One thing that seems to be an issue these days, however, is people's activity on the site. 1we8.gif That might be worth waiting for, but as for actually analyzing a person, that seems to happen rather quickly I think.

Anyways, issues of activity aside: Based on this, you could technically start picking people now since we've had plenty of time as a site to get acquainted with one another. Most of the delay in the actual decision would come from communication lag between the admins, and whatever disagreements they have about the choices, but I think they have a generally good idea of who would make a good admin by now (and who has the skills they need).

Obviously, I should be an admin. I leave for long amounts of time without notifying anybody. I'm perfectly qualified smile.gif
