People who can't insult you properly should be prevented from giving rep points.

And on a seperate note... why do you have negative rep on this post? Kind of silly to -rep someone on a suggestion...

I believe the system truncates them for some reason. I've tried looking in the database to see if I could change it and it seems like it stores it that way. Sorry .

If we have to, we'll try to allot only certain amounts of rep being given out a day or some other strategies. We'll see.

Going with the ability to only give one or two reps a day would probably help lower the abuse.

Or just doing away with the system completely, actually. Codex did just fine without it to begin with.

Maybe have a requirement to spread the rep to other users before you can -/+ rep the same user again? (I've seen this on other forums I used to go to)

• I rep Noit +1.
• Then I see another good post by Noit and want to rep it.
• I can't since it gives me some kind of shit about spreading my rep.
• I go give +/- rep to someone else.
• ???
• I can finally rep Noit!

That would more than likely only increase the meaningless reps.

"I wanna rep Noit, but can't. Oh, let me rep Ange because I like her, yaaay, I can rep Noit again! <333" and so on.

I turned off -reps for now and gave a maximum of 3 +reps per user per day. Hopefully that will help control things .

The comments were part of a third party hook that was really badly programmed. As soon as the programmer fixes their bugs, we'll reinstall it .
