Some people just deserve to have their will to live broken, and then have that wish granted.

Makes me sick.

People are stupid but the worst has to be the girl. The whole things is really her fault. Don't drink and put yourself into bad situations.

You really think that a girl drinking at a school dance let's her deserve to be raped by multiple people with multiple on lookers? Oh, and they also raped her with a CAR ANTENNA. No one deserves that.

It's just a horrible story, I live really close to Richmond (where it happened) and everyone that's heard about it is absolutely devastated. Most of the perpetrators are getting tried as adults and they will most definitely get raped in prison. Karma I guess.

Welp... that made for fun reading. She made a few mistakes this evening... and her story doesn't exactly check out completely either.

Police said the victim left the homecoming dance at Richmond High School and was walking to meet her father for a ride home when a classmate invited her to join a group drinking in the school courtyard.

I'm going to go meet my Dad... but I'm sure that I can sneak off for a little drink...

...come on, we've all been there.

The girl had consumed a large amount of alcohol by the time the assault began, police said. The girl's father tried to call her cellphone but no one answered.

Well FUCK that got out of hand...

Really? Dad's waiting for you and you decided now was the right time to get shit-faced? Have you no common sense?

This is why I'm teaching my kids how to drink before exactly this sort of problem arises.

On a note unrelated to my rant...

The defendants wore the vests for protection, but sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee could not explain further. Morales had a black eye from a separate incident, authorities said.

We all know how rapists and child touchers are dealt with in prison. No need to sugar-coat this for us, authorities.

I didn't say she deserved it... I said that it was her fault because she put herself into the situation because she was drunk, and obviously way to drunk.

Maybe. But she shouldn't have put herself into the situation in the first place. She got drunk and lost control of herself. Yes it was wrong of the other people and the whole thing is pretty fucked up, but it wouldn't have happened if she wasn't trashed at some school event.

Are you by any chance one of those people that would kill their daughter for bringing shame to their already worthless family if she acts out-of-line?

Maybe. Martin Luther King shouldn't have put himself in HIS position in the first place. He had a dream, and expressed it. Yes it was wrong of the murderer and the whole thing is pretty fucked up, but it wouldn't have happened if that nigger just kept his mouth shut and accepted inferiority.

You're fucked. A teenager gets wasted so it's her fault she got raped?

Teens are EXPECTED to get wasted. To say otherwise is nieve, and stupid. Especially in a ghetto area like this place (I read it's a fucked up place), what kind of person wouldn't expect them to be the teens they are?

NOT to advocate the stupidly excessive consumption of alcohol, and indeed I believe it's a terrible thing myself, but to say someone's at FAULT of their own rape, because they got drunk?

Hate those people that get hit by drunk drivers too... They shouldn't have put themselves into the situation in the first place. Going outside, and walking on the sidewalk... Yes it was wrong of the driver to get behind the wheel drunk, and it's pretty fucked up, but that bitch just shouldn't have thought it was safe to go walking on the sidewalk...

It's just too close to the road, you know.

    You're fucked.

    FALLACY!

Getting drunk and going to a secluded place with a bunch of hormonal men =/= Walking sober on a sidewalk where drunk people might be driving.

I agree that the situation is pretty fucked up for the girl (and xZel has agreed that it is a bad situation), but your parallel is lacking. Thought I should point that out because the debater in my head wouldn't stop saying "WTF?!?!? Poor logic!"

OF course a guy thinks she is asking for it! A- No girl or person for that deserves that second going on what she is wearing where were her parents when she left the house. A womans body is hers to do what she will clothes and alcohol don't mean she deserved it guys can wear and drink what ever they want with no consequences so they think girls some how deserve it. And ironocaly enough saying she was asking for it is usally the rapist defense so what kind of person are you?

B- I'll remove my tongue from my cheek now

She did not put herself in that situation because she was drunk. She was at her school dancing and was walking to get a ride. She joined a classmate (likely a friend), to drink with a group of kids at their school in the courtyard of the school. There were multiple people there (about two dozen JUST WATCHING), and they arrested two 21 year olds on the charge. 21 year olds do not go to High School.

I don't care if you were bone sober, there was nothing she could've done in that situation to prohibit them from doing what they wanted. (Last time I checked, a 15 year old girl isn't likely to fight off one guy her age, let alone 2 21 year olds, even more kids her age participating in the attack and 24 other people watching).

How can you people say that it was HER fault?

She went drinking with some friends (who hasn't) and I guess she was gonna say to her dad she'd get a lift from another friend.
Then things got out of hand.

    Wasn't her fault.

She could have not gone with her friends and just left. If she was surrounded by people she didn't know she should have had the common sense to leave. It's a school, there has to be at least one or two school officials somewhere she could have gone near.

And again, I'm not saying that what the other people did was right. But there is some blame for the girl for being in that situation in the first place.

I support this opinion. The rapists deserve every bit of the jail sentence they receive, but this could have been avoided.

I agree that she should've looked for help from a supervisor, but living in the area, I know that the school is EXTREMELY understaffed. It's a huge campus, and there were 2, maybe 3, covering a huge dance with a bunch of kids. None going to the back.

I just feel bad for the girl :crybaby:. You know she'll never be the same again. That has to be so traumatic for her. Sorry if it seemed like I was attacking you earlier, I misinterpreted your message :lookaround:

But she was probably under peer pressure and thought it was the cool thing to do.
But then again she shouldn't be succumbing to peer pressure.

From what I read theres just a bunch of stupid people doing stupid things.

Regardless of the girl being shitfaced (I like that word), those guys committed a crime, and I hope all of them will be found guilty, however the girl should have not been so stupid in the first place.

I think its a shame that some of you think some blame lies with this poor girl....im sure you wouldnt be saying the same thing if it was a family member or spouse of your own.

Yeh it was terrible but kinda her fault...i mean wtf?

Yeh ok she was kinda silly, but thats irrelevent. Gang rape with spectators????? for fucks sake.

Well of course I would be wording it a bit differently if it was a family member or spouse... but if it was a family member or spouse, I would be thinking "how could this have been avoided." And using your terminology, if she hadn't been silly, this probably would not have occurred.

She was not forcefully abducted and taken to a secluded place. She voluntarily went there and partook in an activity that would lower her strength and inhibitions.
