You meaning yourself, without the help of any program...

Sniping with the Shop Wizard is finding profitable items priced very low and grabbing them from user shops, Auction sniping is basically the same as the Shop Wizard, but they bid on items right before the Auction ends so they win them and make some money.

As long as people do this without external programs, then it's legit, though TNT has been heard to freeze people for doing this, which is stupid, since they haven't gone to the extent of inserting some sort of Failsafe to combat Sniping.

they've even frozen people? How do you prove to them you didn't do anything wrong? You have to get over that crap when they do it on eBay in the real world, why would you get busted for doing something like that? What kind of fail safe would be installed? "Sorry! You can't bid on this item because it is ending very soon and that would be cheating if you won!"

I can partly understand when they do things, but as old players, we just see some of it to be dumb. They are looking to save their own butts mostly, so ... meh, can't say or do much about it.

They dont have any way to prove that you cheated, and its impossible to prove that you did not cheat. Even if you recorded yourself doing the actions, I highly doubt that they would unfreeze your account still. :(

Auction sniping is pretty awesome if you spend the time to get decent at it. You can usually get 1-2 lab map pieces a day at like 1/8th of the cost then sell in the tp right after. I found it a bit frustrating myself, after an hour of nothing it sucks. You can make a couple 100k a day if you did it long enough.

There's money to be made out there, but you need to work for it. Are there even any progs out there now to snipe for you?

Meh, I don't see why it should be penalized. No reason to punish you for other people's negligence.

uh from wat i've experienced with sw snipe n auction snipin, its extremely boring and time consuming... but den if u get somfin good, its normally reali worth it XD (like gettin a baby paint brush for 600np) and um... auction sniping is basically bidding at the last second, something to do with luck and counting down i guess =/ uh normally its ezier if u base it on luck and bid on the ones that are about to end and hope u got da last bid XD otherwise u follo an item and note when the time changes, like it goes from 2 hrs to 30 mins n den count down from 30 mins and bid.

Edit: sw snipin works best with ssw =/ dey gots da advantage XD

Auction sniping is definately worth it if you get a dozen of items you look for. As I said with the lab maps there are almost a dozen an hour that you have a chance at. If you get really good at it there is unlimited amounts of np you can make from it.

Still seems incredibly tedious. I've tried both and it is like finding a needle in a haystack.

all along i thought it was not legit but the editorial cleared it up...

Hey, TNT! *gives cookies* Just a quick question that's been bugging me for months. If I accidentally misprice, let's say, a Draik potion in an auction listing (resulting in a loss of 8 million Neopoints), would Neomailing the winner and asking for the item back in return for the Neopoints they bid be against the rules? ~star_days
Politely contacting the person, alerting them of your mistake, and asking them if they'd be willing to undo the transaction is fine. However repeatedly Neomailing them, harassing them if they decline, or encouraging others to "spam" them is not allowed. Please remember that an auction or shop misprice like that is your own fault, and while it would be very kind of the person to assist you, they are within their right to keep the item. Please do note that they don't have the right to harass you, though. If you politely contact them and they harass you (with personal attacks, for example, not simple rudeness), then they've crossed the line into reportable territory themselves.

And TNT has always honored their own words with a simple tip of the hat and a unfreeze? Great find though, I'll have to keep that one around in case I do decide to go with this meathod. Seems reasonable to make dough from.

Here's the end all, beat all of this thread. Found it straight from TNT themselves!

If you are new to auction sniping some easy items to spot are

    1. lab maps
    2. treasure maps
    3. transmog potions
    4. normal potions preferably ets(you will find a few around 100k that can sell for 150k usually)
    5. paint brushes
    6. red or normal codestones
    7. hts plushies

    and the list goes on.

i don't see how it's possible to monitor the SW for these items enough to make a profit. correct me if i'm wrong, but what are the chances someone prices a lab map piece or a codestone for ridiculously low prices?

Newbs and noobs who get them through RE's and keyquest and have no idea what it's worth. Believe it or not my brother found the most expensive map piece on the first day and sold it for 10k because he thought it was a lot <_< Much to tedious to keep refreshing the SW for me but I can be very profitable if you come accross a good snipe.

A USAB makes this simple, give it an list of items to search for and the max price, and alas it does the rest..
I have found at least a couple of mispriced items an hour.

I use the Super Wiz to snipe user shops and to buy cheap codestones and faeries and resell slightly higher.

I play legit, and I've seen it happen VERY often. Even without the newbies, sometimes people just overlook that they forgot to put in that extra "0". Which is why sometimes you get lucky and get a 3,000 np item for 300 np, or better.

exactly. I've seen it more often when I wasn't trying to.
