There you go. That is what I got to be a part of. :p Well I wasn't a part of it but I watched.... lol. I am def not with the Tea Party... but they were outside my room... so I went out.

Details:

The Secret Service shut down all the roads leading to and around campus, they shut down all food areas and common areas on campus. We were not allowed to go in or out of anything. It was intense.
There were snipers on every building and SS agents at every door... staring us down. I waved at a bunch who tried to get me away form the window.
I got yelled at by police and SS agents Id guess like 13 times.
I don't have any pics of Obama, but there are plenty on Facebook if you look at my friends.
The Tea party filled the streets around campus because they weren't allowed in - because its a private Uni...
They were civil. Beside their message the only thing they did that I didn't agree with was they had their children holding signs and screaming their chants. And by children I mean like 3 and 4 year olds. Even babies.
Haha they even had dogs with signs.

President Obama arrived around 11:10 and left at 12. From 8 am to 12:30 the entire campus was closed.

His speech was aired live to the university, and it was cool.
We never saw him out in the open. They drove his car right into a tent.... and right back out of the tent when he left.

Tell me what you think. :) Debate is good here. :p And is welcome.

BTW Sorry about flipping shit last week... it was a stressful week for me. I hope there are no hard feelings.

A few months ago so linguist and political historians has an essay on Yahoo News that said that TeaBaggers are a dangerous lot that will be prone to terrorism or prone to causing terrorism because of the words they use. They talk about "overthrowing" "actions over words" "revolutions" etc words used by the most common of terrorist groups.

    Besides you have to wonder..
Why are teabaggers 99% white and 89% men?

I honestly wonder if some hate groups like the NeoNazis and KKK were the behind the scene creators of the teabaggers?

This group of TeaBaggers was extremely civil, and polite. They were nice actually. I didn't mind talking to them... and they didn't freak out when I didn't agree.

So are NeoNazis when you are the right color..
You just found some poor fools who don't even know all about teabaggers.

the pictures with the kids are depressing...
the modern republican party has turned into mindless fear-mongering. :(
    "what would reagan do?" seriously?
the fact they use the dont tread on me flag is upsetting to... they lost the point.

The teabaggers have a congressman who wants reagan on the $50 bill.

I am old enough to know this bad economy we have right now was mainly started by reagan's trickle down economy..

I don't think you are a minority. There are lots of people who feel that way, and they are entitled to.

well thats good to know that hopefully most people have an open mind haha

i mean, yeah i agree the kid has no idea what he is doing or supposedly representing and maybe people disagree with parents parading their children around like that, but the content of the message directly applies to him and others like him, and provided they were old enough/capable of understanding maybe they would feel the same way

Yeah, the Tea Partiers are just stupid. Maybe if they intelligently where against the government, instead they are just all anti-government, and dont bother having just causes.

If I were him, I'd be scared too. First black president? Look at what Republicans think. Let alone teabaggers...

Tell me what you think. :) Debate is good here. :p And is welcome.

The teabaggers are off their nut. And they drag their children along to protests?
It's like they're using a highly symbolic period in US history as a cover for racism. It's just astonishing.

So did you "see" him speak? Or a TV of him speak? If you didn't actually see him, I'd feel cheated.

BTW Sorry about flipping shit last week... it was a stressful week for me. I hope there are no hard feelings.

You shouldn't be. You were rightfully excited and got bagged out on a non-debate thread.

It's a shame they don't have any set leaders in the tea party, because....
    1. they can't ever be a recognisable political force in a traditional sense because they have no set represetatives
    2. they're likely to split and fracture because they don't have a set leadership telling them what policies are
    3. there's nobody's head to draw on the mad hatter. hehe
