Needs more details. Where are we leaving to? When are we returning? Who is going with us? How are we getting there? etc. etc.

24 hours is a long time to get your shit together. Maybe if the limitation were 1 hour, this would be more interesting.
True, but still with 24 hours I'm sure there are many more things you could be leaving behind.
Wouldn't a tsunami render laptops/cell phones useless in the case of one?

- fill the rest of my backpack with granola bars
- edit: oh yeah some rope. always bring rope

I love how majority of the answers involve computers. Sign of the times, am I right?
I'd have to go with:
- Laptop (and appropriate accessories)
- Collectibles
- Enough clothes to last about a week (Should be a reasonable starting point without overpacking)
- Toiletries
- Pills. Gotta have my pills.
- Food. Fast, convenient food
Also, given that I'm in WI, I'm not too worried about tsunamis. Doesn't mean that we can't plan ahead, just in case.
AS MUCH AS I CAN FIT IN MY PACK THATS A NEED. NOT A WANT. WATER FOOD. GUN. MAP. MEDICINE. JUST TO LIST A FEW
Tsunami. Not zombie infestation.

I honestly wouldn't mind one... as long as its not the 28 weeks later zombies. I wouldn't mind if they were the slow and dumb ones.

Tsunami pales in comparison to the awesomeness of a zombie outbreak.

I was honestly tempted to make a list for a zombie outbreak, but I got lazy. It would pretty much come down to me skipping everything that's not vital and robbing my neighbors for their firearms.

I'm pretty sure their firearms are to ensure that they DON'T get robbed.. so good luck with that.

You don't know my neighbors. Back in the cities, my neighbors are for looser gun control, and their guns are for hunting. Add in the fact that they're usually gone on business... well, I'd hit them up at first sigh of an infestation.
At school, I know where my safe-haven would be; a close friend keeps miscellaneous weapons as ornaments in his home. Add in the fact that he and several other close friends are former army and we *should* be able to survive at least for a bit

lol, just kidding, I would never be able to take that with me in 24 hours, unless I had a truck then I could probably manage.
Anyways, I'd probably grab money, my laptop, Ipod and cellphone.
