I actually am afraid of gay men, that makes me a homophobe. I can't really say it any plainer than that. In truth, I'd rather pretend or rather believe, one's orientation has no effect on me - or matters at all. Just me speaking out loud.

I'm not really afraid. Just creeped out when they look at me / touch me.

Being heterosexual, one can claim it is a evolutionary defense mechanism. I dare you to prove me wrong.

honestly everyone has their opinion, and everyone can be straight, gay , bisexual , or whatever they want to be and everyone else should just suck it up if they don't like it. if you're a homophobe, that's fine, as long as no one is physically doing anything to anyone else, there's no reason to hate homophobes, they're equally as allowed to have an opinion/feelings as anyone else

First of all, wonderful example of the naturalistic fallacy. Just because it's natural, doesn't make it morally acceptable.

Secondly, there's no benefit to being afraid of that which is no threat. In some species, non-breeding individuals actually increase the overall fecundity of a population. There is absolutely no evidence to back up your position.

Emphasising on no threat, most of them are sissies, straight up.

IMO - I think whatever a person does in the privacy of their own home is their own business. As long as you're a good person, live a good life and don't hurt anyone . (I personally don't want to hear about what it is they do on their private time though)
I feel the same about the president(s) sex scandals. What they do in their personal sex life has nothing to do with me. As long as they are doing a good job of running the country. (I personally don't want to hear about their personal lives either)
Regardless: I don't want to hear any other humans running around making a point of what they do with their sexual bits. I just never felt the need to tell others what my sexual prefs are...
On that note, I hope everyone is having an exceptional day. :)

Have you been touched by a homosexual, or was it just a sexual pervert? There's a difference, and people need to acknowledge it. Not all homosexuals are prone to molest people, but most sexual perverts are. Gay does not equal pervert.

Secondly, there's no benefit to being afraid of that which is no threat.

True, but that's why it's a phobia. As a child I found the beast Monstro in Disney's Pinocchio (and later in life, Moby Dick) disturbing, and now I get really anxious during nature specials about large aquatic creatures, particularly whales. And it's possibly why I generally dislike fat people. It's really stupid. You're right. There is no benefit of sweating at the sight of a blue whale. It is just an irrational fear I have.

So I can understand when people feel uncomfortable with homosexuality, but I still think it's really stupid.

you will lay him out, Dont Gloate an make fun, Cause only makes u look like an ass.
Its there personal choice, Like its urs to be straight..

you can't exactly blame gay people for sometimes hitting on straight people. Straight people hit on other people too.

Regardless of the sexual orientation, people just hope the other person will reciprocate. It's just more uncomfortable when straight people get hit on by gay people (generally), so they freak out :o

i think to some people the words fag and gay have lost meaning, as in they forget what they really mean to those who are homosexual...

Fag still means "faggot"... or a bundle of sticks. A fag was below being burned at the stake like the witches, so they just threw them in the fire like kindling... thus the term faggot.

Enjoy thinking about that the next time you call someone a fag ;)

well of course all derogatory words have an etymology that has nothing to do with how we use them, what i meant was most people have lost sense of its bad connotation towards homosexuals

I have a gay friend and he's okay because he doesn't flaunt the fact. Sure he dresses like he's gay but he's not over the top like a lot of gays I see. Take the other day for example I was in Bondi walking through the mall and this gay guy was handing out pamphlets and said 'there you go hunny' while doing some really homosexual type wave with his hand. While I took it as a compliment my friend i was with was very grossed out by it and I have to admit it was quite unnerving so we promptly left that mall. Out of my entire group of friends which are girls I'd say only 1 or 2 of them even consider watching gay porn. The rest of my friends girl friends would rather watch lesbians going at it as they find it rather amusing but get very grossed out by two guys. So it's not just guys who prefer to see hot lesbians in pornos but also girls too. I understand it's nothing they themselves can control but honestly a bit of restraint would be much appreciated. I am a very tolerable person but when I see a gay couple making out or I see some gay guy walking down the street in tight leather jeans well lets just say; that really grinds my gears.

why does everyone say this? they're fine with gay people as long as they don't interfere with their own life? personally i'm fine with gay people regardless what they decide to do with their life and how they interact with me. if they come on to me that's their own choice, im not gonna think any differently of them and no im not gonna just let them come on to me but it wouldn't change my view of them.

I wonder if it's a lot of guys finally experiencing the "female" side of things, and it's scary being in the non-dominant position. Men getting hit on/groped by creepy gay guys is no different than women getting hit on/groped by creepy hetero guys.

Also, there is a selection bias when it comes to "gay" behaviors. You remember the ones that are the most flamboyant, while you pay no attention to the regular old joes going about their everyday lives. I know lots of gay men, but only one you could really guess was gay. Most people on here probably know many gay people, they just don't know it!

grinds your 'gear' up against your pants after seeing such a public display of homoeroticism?

does the rest of the world use 'gear' as slang for penis or is that just where I live?

haha well that's not how I use it but reading his comment in that context seems pretty amusing :)
