Gah, I really like your music. I like the song for your boyfriend especially. It's something I'd actually download to put on my iTunes and listen to over and over again.
Thaks! After I update the song, I'll send you a download link. What did you think of Mad Scientist? I'm eventually going to turn it into a 30 minute long composition of every decent song I've ever made.

Not really the best guy to ask for opinion on electronic music since I just listen to mainstream (Daft Punk, Deadmau5, does Benny Benassi count?) and never go clubbing either.

Shit Man and Das Lied von Alex is my kind of "jamming in the car" music. Also parts of Das Lied von Alex totally reminded me of the music on the WipEout series if you've ever heard of the game. SELL THEM ON iTUNES imo. Get Gone could use an "intro", but I enjoyed it after a minute or so...
I might start doing that soon. A lot of people have been suggesting that I start selling on iTunes, but I really don't have enough music that's good enough for that yet. Maybe in a few weeks.
I'm surprised you didn't think the same of Mad Scientist as you did of Shit Man. Imo, Mad Scientist is more "car worthy" than Shit Man and Das Lied von Alex. I'll be uploading a new version of Mad Scientist either today or tomorrow.

Back to School - 09/19/2010 - Completed
Back to School is the manifestation of my excitement for school, is music. It's kinda weird, really happy. UPDATED: This is the best dance song I've ever made, but certainly not the last.

This is the introduction song for my new album, Diary of a Scientist. Find it on iTunes in about six months.

FL Studio does not a producer make.
Edit: Came off a little harsh rereading that. What I'm saying is, if you put out an album 16 year olds and manbabies will love it. But anyone with musical training will stab themselves in the ear after a minute.

Of course, that's mainly the fault of the genre, but still not something I would ever listen to.

I generally like electronica, and I hate to jump in the thread and start hating but they all feel super hollow... It probably would've rocked my socks off when I was 16 but years later, with much more music under my belt, this doesn't impress at all.

I know most of my stuff sounds pretty hollow, but have you listened to the new version of Back to School (Happysynth v2) or Untitled33? With those two songs, I used a new digital synth (as apposed to the analogue synth I always used before) and I tried to make them sound more "mainstream friendly", instead of my usual artistic approach; as with my other music.
Btw, Untitled33 might seem a little repetitive right now but I'll be adding vocals and mixing it up/extending it (after I give it a name lol).
I put hours upon hours into these two songs, creating every single thing you hear completely from scratch. So rather than just get all negative, you could give me your suggestions on improving my music. Is hollow sounding the only problem? Keep in mind, everything in all the songs I've made can be changed in any way, shape, or form.
EDIT: Listen to the new version of Back to School at 2:25 and tell me it sounds hollow... Might need some different/more percussion though.
Have to agree with Abradix here... your songs don't really seem to have much depth for the most part.
Of course, that's mainly the fault of the genre, but still not something I would ever listen to.
Have you listened to the two songs I just put up there? I thought they were a lot better than the rest of my stuff but maybe it's just me...

About Happysynth v2. I agree with all of your comments. I'm just beginning to attempt to actually fade things. If you listen to my other music, you won't notice much modulation. It's so easy to do, I don't know why I haven't been doing it. But now that I'm used to not doing it, I sometimes forget and/or skip over a vital break without realizing it.

Sounds defensive to me. I don't really care how much time went into the songs... If she didn't like my criticisms, tough titties. I'm not the only one that thinks so.

Well sure, but even you admitted your post was harsh, and where was the constructive criticism? You told him it was hollow, you didn't clarify and/or suggest how he could improve it.
Well, hollow has a meaning. He got the message because in the next post he said "DROMZ?!"

Bone and Abradix. To clarify, I am asking you to be harsh, not polite. I need rough, harsh criticism or how can I know where I need improvement? However, Abradix, there is a very large difference between harsh, constructive criticism and rude, pointless remarks. Abradix, I realize you're more than likely still a teenager, and male teens can be overly abrasive, so I won't take it to heart, but please Google the definition of constructive before you reply again. Plus, descriptive words such as hollow can mean many things. I asked for a definition because I wasn't sure how the word "hollow" was used in this context. In my mind, when I read hollow I immediately thought "airy with a large room feel", but then realized that couldn't possibly be the case since I don't have much reverb in my music. So therefore, I decided to ask for elaboration.
I'll post my new stuff in a month or so, after I get the feel for Ableton. Thank you again everyone.

I'm sorry, I'm slightly retarded and can't grasp the concept of constructive.
It's ok, don't beat yourself up over it.

Its ok, don't beat yourself up over it.

Thank you again everyone (except Abradix) for the comments, it really does help. I think my main problem is, at the moment, it's just too easy for me to loop things with FL Studio. It's used mainly for rap music, to loop back-beats. So I've purchased Ableton Live, along with a few tutorial DVDs (since I've never used Ableton) and a pretty cool drum beat machine for more varied beats.

1.) Making personal attacks on people and then asking for constructive criticism is generally not very effective.

1. I was just making an observation.
2. One of the definitions is "Having a reverberating, sepulchral sound".
And 3. I've updated the thread with a couple new songs.

I think what you need is a bit more pauses, thus following up with another drop; bit repetitive, especially in the daft punk mix.
I feel as if i'm playing a video game when listening to your music, aside from trippin' on the variation of beats.
But, for all I know that could be what you're going for. I'm just saying it's not something I would want to hear at an event; sorry.
Don't take any of this into offence, but I think you need a little more work with your creativity and imagination when putting these mixes together.
Hope to hear improvement the next time around

I agree with everything you said. I'm really not that creative, I just know how to make sound. I've been trying to break out of my shell of creativity but it isn't easy.
I do try to make my music sound like game music though. I'm hoping a game developer will snatch me up one day.
I think Warp Drive Active is my favorite song so far if you created that. That's something that would sound sick while rolling.
From scratch, like always.
Here's my newest creation (also from scratch). I'm using a brand new drum machine for this one. It's still a work in progress.
