Was hoping this thread had something to do with this R&B classic.
Anyway, can't say I love anybody but myself and my mawmaw. If anybody else out here is like this also, you are not alone. <3

Michael Parenti's "The Anti-Communist Impulse"

It's hard to imagine it now, but since this book was written in the early seventies, when there was an ideological split between the global ruling powers -- an equalizer to an American imperialism which today goes unaccounted for (the absence of such a geopolitical pressure now giving them free reign in expansionism and genocide abroad, "austerity" at home) -- as such, the manner in which he talks about these opposing forces is discussed so casually (Soviet Union, revolutionary China, Vietnam, GDR, etc), that it's rather refreshing to see compared to contemporary (pre-revolutionary) socialist discourse and analytical methods.
In between, I'm also reading some of Brecht's plays:

Check this out to understand Brechtian/epic theater:

Congratulations! What's retired rank/group do anyway?
Also @Jess, you're a post away from 9000. I was working on a DBZ meme joke but it's even cliche to do ironically at this point.
