#1829726 The Sims 4 - Discussion/Reviews/Shit like that

Posted by Hydrange on 27 November 2014 - 07:24 PM

I pirated it by now. Main reason for that was the CC-boom that happened. There really is lots of stuff already, which makes everything more interesting for me.
What is definitely needed, is a lightning mod though. WTF is this game so dark??

Anyways, first impressions:

Mmmmh earwax salad my favourite

I still don't like the game. There's craptons of new custom content every day, which I enjoy (I just love downloading clothes and shit, it's like shopping, but relaxed and for free, lol), the gameplay itself I still find endlessly boring. There really is absolutely nothing new and things you can do are so limited and/or interrupted by freakin loading screens. I still can spend hours playing TS3, while I never can't keep myself entertained with TS4 for longer than an hour. I am couting on future EPs.

Think I'll go take some pics, to show off some cc, now.

It is EA, they'll probably release all that in the expansions like they always do...

#1572041 The Future of Neopets

Posted by Hydrange on 10 April 2012 - 03:58 PM

I honestly have to disagree about the NC Mall. I don't think it really impacts the game at all, at least not in my opinion.
Even when events incorporate NC, all it is is a glorified game to earn NC prizes. Something I don't involve myself in because every single effing thing in the NC Mall is girly, sparkly and fluffy. Hardly any non-female oriented items, which is really what pushes me away from purchasing NC. (And the fact that you only get boxes from cards, which is idiotic)

I do agree that account security is an issue, which ties back to customer service. For example, a friend of mine about a month ago was doing the whole clothing trade thing with his Draik. He has screenshots, neomails, etc. where they agreed on trading for clothing or w/e and the guy stole his Draik, traded it to like 2 other people and TNT claims they can't return the pet when we all know they can and they have done so in the past. They need to stop doing things for some people and not others. Either apply it to everyone and return EVERY scammed pet or don't return any at all. That's probably my BIGGEST pet peeve, not treating everyone the same.

I honestly supported Neopets going pay-to-play (which contrary to what TNT claims, it WAS under consideration for a few years) I think their biggest mistake was pushing previous Nickelodeon heads to the top of Neopets, of course all they care and know about is targeting things to children. I don't think they realized just how many older players there are on the site and that most of the 'serious' players are over the age of 18 and probably have been playing for YEARS.

I do agree that I would have liked to see Adam and Donna stay, or I wish they could have released TwinSkies when they originally announced they would. I probably would have left Neopets for it. xD But they left for good reason, they didn't agree with what Viacom was doing to Neopets and it's sad. I do miss the old days (and when I say old days I don't mean like 2005 lol) but I think Neopets can be saved if they make some realizations about their user base and where WE want the site to go. I hate to admit it but my dream job, for years, was to work at Neopets. Dead serious. Either as their receptionist or as their support staff. I've played Neopets since the VERY beginning, joined 16 days after it launched and I've played ever since. It's been a huge part of my life, I have thousands of dollars in their old merchandise and a lot of merchandise regular people can't buy (or you couldn't buy in stores) all sealed in display boxes (mint condition) and what not. I'm a huge Neopets nerd and it saddens me what the site has come to. :(

Be jealous. ;D Only 250 were made and only given to TNT Staff and guess who has one?!

Spoiler

Your plushie is absolutely adorable. Don't think Adam and Donna would be much better. Since they earned all that money they changed a lot, see what their ex workers in Meteor Games have to say: http://www.glassdoor...ews-E218571.htm I just started playing MG games because they owned the company, but they are horrible! They laid off 90% of their staff in Christmas, on Treasure Keepers, we saw some weird things going on, after a month without news from them (updates were almost daily and they suddenly stopped), a worker came and said there'd be an update, and said the rumours of TK closure were false. The update consisted in only one item, cash item, that was a bloody recolour of an already existing item that was non-cash and was VERY expensive. WTF. That was two weeks before they closed Neopets Treasure Keepers. On Island Paradise they did exactly the same, stopped updates, posts from workers, contests etc. Then they came with a last update of some recoloured cash items that are super duper and nothing was heard again. Adam resigned and left (divorced?), the CEO resigned, Donna was left alone and posted 3 months later of no news or explanations or apologies, she says something about hush-hush stuff going on and that updates are coming again soon (probably she was trying again what they did on NTK calming people down so they keep buying cash stuff). No updates came of course and I got pissed off and uninstalled all their bloody games, so I dont know if they closed Island Paradise in the end or not.

You say they dont agree with what viacom was doing to Neopets, but they did exactly the same and worse, because what they did was not trying to earn money with their games, they were trying to scam people making them buy recoloured items when they knew they were gonna close (but they said they weren't), sure they already laid off the artist when that happened. .Seriously, I got very disappointed with them. I hope if I win 100m pounds once I dont become so horrible.

Thanks for the list, I checked which ones my pet didn't have yet, so I bought them.
Also inside the mind of a lupe isn't gonna be much higher, it's one of the prizes @ Altador daily.

#1558840 New Avatar: Rubbish

Posted by Hydrange on 20 February 2012 - 02:50 PM

Ugh this one's busting my ass. Plus TNT said today it wasn't random so presumably it's discarding like 5000 items cos that's what people have been saying they need to discard.

Then again I wouldn't trust TNT far as I could chuck 'em ;)

I am sure the amount is random, but it's set before hand for each player. There's a new value in the url when you discard stuff maybe that acts as counter. It is like the Old Grumpy King avatar. You get it always when you meet the requirements (but meeting those requirements it's the random part).

#1551875 Legit main frozen

Posted by Hydrange on 02 February 2012 - 04:26 AM

This would indicate that it is not a "Legit" main. This would indicate that it is a main that cheated and got frozen as a result. Its a risk you take while cheating.

I think she means those were the reasons TNT said, and the account was really legit.

#1537510 Neopets: Treasure Keepers Closing

Posted by Hydrange on 15 December 2011 - 02:18 PM

Nice Turnip! The link is not working for me tho, can you please fix it? (It shows the ... in the URL for some reason). Rep+

Btw:

And the company couldn't have better timing. Inside Social Games reports that Meteor Games, the social game developer behind Facebook games like Island Paradise and Serf Wars, has laid off 90 percent of its staff. Anonymous sources told the website that the terribly unfortunate move was made because the company couldn't raise funding for find an interested buyer.

Along with loosing nearly all of its staff, Meteor Games also opted to shut down Neopets: Treasure Keepers, which as of this writing welcomes just 30,000 monthly players and 3,000 daily players, according to AppData. Meteor Games made the announcement on the game's Facebook Wall just yesterday that the game would close today. As an apology for the short notice, Meteor Games gave players some items to use within the game before it closes.

ISG reports that the game peaked in September to the tune of 300,000 monthly players and 35,000 daily players, but it plummeted soon after. Sadly, Meteor Games isn't looking so hot across the board, as its total monthly player base is a hair above 900,000.

The website also confirms that company CEO Zac Brandenberg, left 4-year-old Meteor Games in November. Our best wishes go to those that may have lost their jobs at such an unfortunate time. We've reached out to Meteor Games for comment.

#1533921 Pets that should've been grandfathered (UC)?

Posted by Hydrange on 03 December 2011 - 10:16 AM

I actually used to like EVERY single pet species. Each one was so cute or cool or pretty and unique for its own reasons. Now most of them are just... ugh ):
Also, why in the world did they make the Skeiths stand up? They looked so badass curled up like that. And they didn't have to give them such huge stomachs, either ._.
Posted ImagePosted Image

Xweetoks' pose, too. They were absolutely stunning before the redraw. They're still very pretty, but was the fist really necessary for a quadruped-type pet.
Posted ImagePosted Image

Totally agree! I pounded my xweetoks because I don't like them anymore, I think it's that line above the nose and the white spot in the eye which is smaller in the new version, they are screwed up. Same with the Lutaris and Kois, now they look retarded... At first I didn't get why all the pets are raising an arm, I thought they became communists

#1524057 Rosa Espinoza

Posted by Hydrange on 01 November 2011 - 04:12 AM

haha I love insults from Chile! conchatumare is my favourite insult ever. I already knew Rosa Espinoza, a friend showed me the video long ago, and it's just hilarious, I didn't know what was a flaite, but that was since then added to my vocabulary, it's such a useful word. And when one of my friends starts arguing I call them their name + espinoza :x3:.
For english speakers, there was a subbed version but I see it has been deleted. It's just a girl arguing with her brother, he makes fun of her ears, then her nose, clothes... and she calls him lots of insults and threatens him with an empty cocacola 2L bottle. In the end he pushes her and she screams like a pig being slaughtered.

#1486838 Adopting - the winners and losers

Posted by Hydrange on 18 July 2011 - 12:19 AM

I never applied for a pet, I wouldn't feel attached at all to a pet that I didn't make. I have put a couple of pets UFA and never asked for application, however I remember an Island Peophin that I gave to a Peo collector, and the girl insisted on making an application for him, even when she was the only person that applied. I actually dislike all this app stuff, most of the times it's only useful for raising people's egos. Before the new version came out, a pet was as valuable as the colour of their paintbrush. Now most of the colours are as rubbish as basics, because you can have a red pet with a very cool customization and still look good. The only way to make your account look less noob in the past, was painting your pets with a expensive pb, but that disappeared when they released wearables.

#1462111 Silly kad question

Posted by Hydrange on 27 May 2011 - 01:30 PM

Hey, TNT. I've been seeing a lot of confusion regarding the Kadoatery recently. There have been a few people on the Avatar Chat board saying that they never got their avatar awarded after feeding their 75th Kad. Inevitably these people are swiftly attacked for being cheaters, the explanation always being that, "TNT can tell when someone is using a cheat engine to automatically feed Kads, and won't reward them the avatar. If you didn't get your avatar, you're a cheater!" If that were the case and you found someone cheating, wouldn't you guys just freeze their accounts? Other people say that you, TNT, don't hand out the avatar to people who feed while having more than 50 items in their Inventory. Are either of these two postulates correct, or are people just using these theories to attack each other for "cheating," when the truth is that a simple glitch keeps some users from getting their avatars? Please leave out my username. :) ~username removed
Those are rather elaborate theories! Neither is correct, though. It's a simple glitch that we're looking into. If you have fed more than 75 Kadoaties and haven't received the avatar after visiting your User Lookup, please contact Support so we can investigate!
