#1594201 Value of pokemon -> NP or Other guide?

Posted by Burd on 09 June 2012 - 11:06 AM

Unless the buyer's an absolute stickler for legit shiny Pokemon, all sorts of Pokemon can be gotten from using Pokesav.

Only other reason I can think of for people wanting legit Pokemon is for tournament battling, and they tend to RNG their own Pokemon anyway.

Either way, I haven't really seen any such guides around, but just wanted to warn you there might not be overwhelming interest :(

#1593640 [GUIDE] Smart ABing - High Volume, Low Profit, Low Risk - FULL LISTS FOR EVER...

Posted by Burd on 07 June 2012 - 12:13 PM

Are this lists safe to use on a young account?

Like, having a list with say a R99 item wont have you trying to buy it right?

Probably a dumb question, sorry! :(

Several points to make here, bear with me :3

A young account? Accounts under 3m old can't even see r99 items, so you're fine there.

Spatzilla states that these lists will not by anything worth 125k+, and although item rarity doesn't always correspond with its worth, it's reasonably safe to assume that none of these lists will contain any r99s. A few r90+, maybe. But, again, whether or not a 'young' account can see these items in the shop is another matter (scroll down to the bottom of this page to see account restrictions)

Also, I'd guess that r99s are snapped up more quickly by other RSers, so you might not necessarily get the item. Not a very important point, though, seeing you're advanced and probably have more competitive time settings.

I wouldn't particularly recommend using Spatzilla's lists; they were great, but now they're a bit old. You might want to check this guide out for making your own lists quickly.
You could always remove the first 10 or so items off from the beginning of Spatzilla's lists, if you don't want to make your own. That cuts out the items with the most profit (at the time this guide was submitted, though. Probably changed by now), but I can't guarantee that removes all r90+.

Unless you're constantly pulling in r99s / high profit items, you should stay under the radar just fine, but keep in mind that there is no such thing as being completely safe.

#1592395 Help with Digital Inking

Posted by Burd on 04 June 2012 - 05:20 AM

I use default hard 4px round brush in Photoshop for inking at 300% original size. Once it's resized down to original size, it's very crisp :3
Personally, I find that 4px is the most comfortable for inking, since Photoshop's brushes are all really soft and their flow isn't the same as some other programs' brushes: 3px is too soft and the flow is not high enough, even at 100% Flow, and 5px is incredibly hard to control.

*If you have a heavy hand, adjust your tablet's settings to decrease pressure sensitivity; if you press hard and don't have a steady hand, the lines come out scruffy-looking + require a lot of erasing to clean up.

I have an extremely steady hand, but that only comes in useful when I'm inking slowly (eg. intricate shapes. More often than not, I actually just use Pen Tool for those shapes rather than inking by hand. In case you don't use Pen Tool - it's almost exactly like Bezier Tool in Corel programs and MSP. Here's a tutorial for it.) So... having a steady hand only really comes in to inking if you prefer to ink slowly.

Faster inking results in smoother lines; I don't trace my sketch precisely, but rather 'redraw' the whole thing, using the sketch as a guide. If I try to 'trace' my sketch exactly, the result looks very scruffy and somehow artificial. My sketches are really clean, and I sometimes actually just clean up the sketch to use as lineart instead of inking it >w<

Inking with a sketching motion may also result in the lineart looking scruffy; have you tried one-stroke inking?

Recommended programs for inking:
If you don't feel like resizing / prefer to keep one working size, try SAI and openCanvas. I use them to ink different sorts of pieces - SAI is good for elegant lines, oC is good for action pieces, and Photoshop is good for bold lines.

#1591727 How to Make an Abrosia List - Improved (Using Notepad++)

Posted by Burd on 02 June 2012 - 04:04 AM

I PM'ed you. :)

To be more specific about my problem, when I try to replace , it just comes back with 0 occurences replaced.

Replied C:

I'll assume you're talking about the replacement, since in your list, all prices were gone but some indents remained.
replacement didn't work when I tried either (I'm not a genius in this matter, so I have no idea why :c ! Maybe they didn't qualify as columns?), but experimenting with your list again, any of the three below removed them:
TextFX > TextFX Edit > Reindent C++ code
OR
TextFX > TextFX Edit> Leading space to tabs or tabs to spaces
OR
TextFX > TextFX Edit> Leading space to tabs or tabs to spaces width=8

Perhaps we should wait until an expert on this matter comes, but for now, your list should be fine XD

edit. Can't say \ t
lol

#1587691 Semi-Legit restocking (ad blocker) question?

Posted by Burd on 21 May 2012 - 05:23 AM

Sorry for noob question, but how do you block nonprofitable items using ad blocker??
Do you mean that by blocking the image, Abrosia will not buy the item?

There's an option to right click any image and block it if you've got adblock installed. There's an in-depth guide for semi-legit RSing using adblock here.

It doesn't matter which item images you have blocked, Abrosia will still function as normal. The use of adblock is for when you are actually RSing yourself, using FF / Chrome / whichever browser :)

#1432154 List of games Almost Impossile to get Caught on cheating

Posted by Burd on 28 March 2011 - 12:14 PM

well i gave someone who is legit and had a good trader score to do an avatar service for me and i think they self froze my account so i submit a ticket and now waiting...

o__O Did you get that sorted out?

Anyway; I tried Extreme Potato Counter on another account (because one EPC trophy isn't enough? lol).
Was building up over a couple of days, but got a review yesterday.
My score was actually quite a bit below the review score given on Infamous Joe's thread; it might be a good idea to remind users that either said guide may be slightly out of date, or that Neopets may conduct random reviews, or both.

#1431690 Daily Dare 2011

GameID: 1221 Score: 125266 Time: 1260-1440

NOTE this runs for AT LEAST 20 min and gives the max possible score (which following the guide would give you normally).

I really laud your efforts to keep everyone up-to-date with SS times and scores; it's very helpful :D

I've played this game before, and - omfg - it takes so long to finish. Granted, I don't have to be there for all of it ;)
And now, I don't have to be there for any of it. +rep to you; thanks xD

Spoiler

Would you say that video has helped to define and shape who you are as a person today?

Fucking fascinating!

Yes. Not a day goes by that I don't ponder the deep meaning of an elf farting out a unicorn.
It has made me a much better person.
