big computer problem

17 March 2007 - 07:57 PM

so i get a new 22" lcd monitor and everything is great. after 5 days my position of the screen on the lcd is fucked up so i restart my computer. nothings fixed except after around 2 minutes my computer freezes. nothing works, clock, ctrl alt del, not even mouse. so i reformat my whole hdd, and install a fresh version of windows and i use my previous montir (one before the 22")and windows freezes agian. so now i believe it's not windows but hardware. i try linux too and it works for about 20-40 minutes then fucks up. i've tried switching out the ram too. my specs are

cpu:amd athlon 2800+
ram:kingston and tried crucial
video card:asus radeon 128mg 9200se

I used Gparted (linux live cd for partition management) and it showed the windows partition having errors and something with clusters, and it said to do chkdsk /f then restart 2 times. so i did the following then ran gparted agian. gparted then showed the same thing. for some reason when using gparted nothing messes up, but it's only been running for like 2 minutes.

can anyone help? thanks -stefan

setup for satellite,computer,xbox360 help

01 March 2007 - 04:49 PM

i'm getting this monitor LINK
and i want to be able to use it for my computer, satellite, and my xbox 360. I thought about a tuner card but would those lose video quality?

my satellite uses: standard component video and the red and white sound cables.
xbox 360 uses: yellow, red, white cable. the standard one, i think. Or i can get this LINK and have it use vga

so what would be the easiest setup to make all of them work off one monitor? thanx

p.s: is there such thing as a cable that has the red, white sound cables on one side and 2 pairs on the otherside with a switch?
