In Singapore you get the death sentence for having a certain amount of weed on you, and like 20+ years for anything less/using so I've never been around any my entire life. It's pretty strictly controlled. I personally think it's a bad idea too. Harmful side effects, waste of money... but then I dislike smoking as well for the same reasons.
What is your opinion on drugs?

As long as they aren't abused, I don't see any problem. Personally I am open to trying most drugs at least once. I used to take MDMA very regularly, but its appeal wore off. Right now I care more for occassionally using LSD and shrooms.

Would you say that is a good way of controlling drugs?

They have the lowest rate of drug use in the world as a result. Seems to work.

I don't think you have quite grasped the thrust of the question. I did not ask if it was effective.

If you object to it morally, fair enough, but in terms of effectiveness, it's definitely a good way of controlling drug use.

Well, I'm for the death penalty, so yes.

You're for the death penalty for carrying drugs? This is interesting. What would you say is the least severe crime for which the death penalty would be appropriate?

To clarify, I think the death penalty is a great deterrent. The least severe crime can be hard to qualify. For example, I'd not apply the death penalty to a first time rapist, but if they repeatedly raped, I would.

So do you agree with its use in this situation.
Do you like the idea of it actually being used, or just like the idea of it as a deterrent for drugs?

So carrying weed is a more severe offence than a rape?

Weed is ok, I smoke it here and there, eat some hash brownies/cookies once in a while.
Other drugs - not for me, but if you're into it who am I to judge, just as long as you don't try to eat my face off.
Prescription drugs: I take em to survive and keep me sane, sure I have an addictive personality and am depressed and abuse painkillers sometimes.

oh, according to malaysian anti-drug laws, anyone found with drug possession will face death penalty too. god knows how many iranian nationals and local traffickers who got hanged last year because of it.

oh gosh capital punishment should never be used (at least in my opinion). What if the person in question was just an unfortunate person that happened to be hooked on weed? That hardly deserves death.
i know right. can't believe some countries already legalizing drugs. the newest is uruguay i think.
