my sister is VERY open about the subject. She's like "I'm on my period. Sorry if I bitch at you. Can you get me some chocolate while I'm still nice" :p

LOL this is me. I mean, I might as well give people a warning while I'm still being rational. TMI but I used to have really bad mood swings during my period because of the birth control that I was on, so my boyfriend definitely appreciated knowing when I was about to turn into Mega Bitch 3000.

haha well I AM her best friend *cough*

I'm not so open about my own personal things... she's open about it to the rest of the family too though. It's not uncommon to find pads on the bathroom sink countertop. It doesn't even phase me anymore

That phases me, and I don't even live in your house.
    :p

It's a little weird; but it happened before i knew what they were, and by the time I learned it, I was used to it :/

She's now counselling about the solvation of molecule to ADP/AMP xD

I'm uber close with my mom. Well, only two of us in the family, so it's not like we can keep each other away. We pretty much share everything though - gossip over her colleagues, my friends, world news, badmouthing people, our mutual dislike of each other's music taste, clothing, etc. Like I posted the other day on FB "I may not be born with a silver spoon, but my mom's pure gold." etcetc.

Mush aside, it weirds me out when I see parents who go all "Seen but not heard' on their kids. It's normal, I guess - but having lived with my mom all my life, I guess I'm ignorant of how life is like to them. Which, in turn, weirds me out. O_o

My sister is only 8, & we're 8 years apart but still we are very close.
I tell her everything, knowing full well she won't rat me out.
She knows some much crap I've done, but yet I can confide in her with everything.

It's pretty nice having a younger sib, but it's so much responsibility. If they grow up into a crack addicted whore it's partially your fault. :(

Werewolves are awesome, your logic is flawed.

I am very close with my immediate family. There are four of us, and we were raised by a single mother who enriched our lives with music, art, movies, and literature. And I am so grateful for that.
    Spoiler

If you were to ask me who my favorite sibling is, it would be my brother. And I don't feel like there's any shame in having a favorite. Shit, I was my mom's favorite until that little bastard was born. Ah. Glory days.

My sister is 2 years older than me, she was still clinging to breast feeding at 2, but when I was born, the milk changed thickness. my theory is she blamed me for life for this. she never drank milk in her life after this.

We literally shouted at each other every day and don't really care whether the other lives or dies.

On good days we ignore each other all day, I am glad I moved out now.

    Awww nice topic bog!

I have and older brother. 34, and a marginally younger sister by 11 months.

My brother is from my Mums first marriage, but she met my dad when my brother was 5 and he basically brought him up so calls my father dad as well as his biological farther.

We are all from England originally and when my brother hot 19, when I was 8, he decided to move back to his dads in England, which is 3 hours away. because of this I think the closeness between us,and my sister and him. coupled with the age difference, has kinda meant that we have never been very close. I love him of course, bit its different to my sister.

My sister is my best friend. we are the same age for two weeks a year and used to be inseparable until I got a serious boyfriend at 16. We are pretty different people now we are adults but have an identical sence of humor and are often accused of talking in our own language as we only need say little to each other to know what the other is saying. she can be a pain, but I would do anything I could to help her, and I'm pretty sure she feels the same.

That's still bizarre though :/ did you two have a major event? Didn't either of you try to make nice since you lived together for, 16 years or w/e?

I really do not get along with my family very often. We never really were that close. Especially recently with the whole divorce thing. & Now I'm off to college, so it really doesn't affect me much. But when i'm home, i live with my mom. I spend time with my little sister when I can but I've always been a lot more focused on friends. I turn to friends for personal problems and lunch and bla bla bla. My sister is 13, turning 14 tomorrow.. so shes at that stage where she's starting to hang out with more friends and such too. My older brother, whos 23, has been out of the house for a while so I don't really see/talk to him much. & coming from a military background, I've moved all over the world so I've never really been near any of my other family members besides the immediate ones like my mom, dad, sister, brother. Its an interesting question though. I think its weird when people like go to movies with their family on like friday/sat nights (I know someone who does that) instead of just going out with friends. But to each its own I suppose.

Lol na she loved it! My mum and dad had been trying for a baby for 5 years and my Mums a house wife and loves babies, so she was very excited to have my sister aswell! But my sister was unexpected and not being tried for, so technically an accident haha. A happy accident though!

I don't have any brothers and sisters, but I'm really close with my parents and my extended family on my dad's side. It's not that I'm not close with my mom's side, but they don't all get along and stuff. And my mom's brother is like... well, he's got a of couple screws lose. I guess maybe because I only see my dad's family every other Christmas and for the odd birthday/summer that keeps us so close; we can't get sick of eachother. xD

The only member of my family im close to is my mom. Ya its embarrassing but idgaf. My dad's mostly never around and im an only child. We live pretty far from the town so i end up spending the weekends with my mom when I was a kid. Nowadays I just take her out to dinner if I can.

Did I mention I hate my relatives? Kings and Queens of gossip. <_<

I don't have alot of shared interest and similarities with my mom too to be honest. Her sense of humor and mine are somewhat off, and she hates playing games, but we try to understand each other.

I heard the educational system is a lot more regulated and competitive in singapore. And I've also heard that the the singaporean moms are the most deadly strain of asian moms.....the supermom of asian moms...
