If she forgets it a week later and you're spending anywhere near a shit-load, you're doing it wrong :)

I've never seen a woman appreciate a gift longer than two weeks that isn't some sort of expensive piece of jewelry that she can flaunt around all the time.

It's even worse when I get them something they wanted, and they use it once or twice, if at all, then throw it with the rest of their junk, which is why I stopped wasting my dosh on them.

Well, that sounds more like a problem with your choice in women... I got an adorable little Japanese lady, the most expensive thing I ever bought her was an iPod and she even apologized to me when it finally took a dump. Of course I'm also 23, so assuming you're younger I can understand the frustration, teenagers are little shits.

You'd be amazed at the materialism the girls have at this day and age.

Until it changes I'll sit out and say 3DPD.

I'm sure the materialism wouldn't shock me that much... But it applies to boys as well. Everyone is growing up a spoiled asshole with their nose buried in their iPhone.

So yes, 3DPD applies to most people in the real world.

The only 3DPD I "see" in females though, is those that have creepy yoai fetishes.

Somehow I don't think you fully understand what 3DPD means.

You'd be right in a way. But only because my preference is actual women.

We don't know what her interests are so it would be hard to give an accurate idea for a gift.

That's subjective, 2D women are actual women, just fictional.

Well those're both able to go into the "Pros" category. And can't say I blame you too much... Women are tough to deal with. But I'm not sure I can fully understand falling in love with a body-pillow.

Just tell her you're just researching how to interpret and react to a relationship.

Though, she's Japanese, so it might not work as well.

    Flowers.
If your girlfriend doesn't like them then what the heck.

I usually don't get huge gifts on valentines day because my boyfriend spoils me on unexpected days and doesn't need to rely on just one day to show his ~love~ for me. When he even gets me just one flower it makes me happy, idk. For me it's the thought that counts. If any girlfriends going to be an ungrateful person you should probably re-evaluate some things. This is in general, not to you by the way haha.

My friend had a typical teenage crush on this girl he liked and bought her an ipod. One year later and he's moved on. She still uses the ipod and I don't think she ever realized he liked her XD

Well I've been with my little lady for 3 years, thats more than an iPods life span in my experience.

Also, NEVER buy nice things for girls who aren't fucking your brains out.

That's all I do now, and even then, I really don't buy that many gifts, because whenever I do for mostly everyone I know, they'll use it for about a week (If at all), then forget all about it and add it to their pile of junk.

That's why you get her something useful. Like a straightener. Or a small pet. Or a book she's been wanting. Even better if you two can share the gift. Killing zombies together can get pretty romantic... The gift almost pays for itself!

I got the girl a nice blanket that she was continuously checking out whenever we hung out at the mall, which she then used for a few weeks then decided she didn't want it and gave it to some friend.

Also, I stopped talking to all the females I knew, so I don't even see them to buy them gifts, not like they had any interest in vidya gaems or anything in the like anyways.

    Silly High School.

Boo. Blankets are boring. Get her something exciting... Venus Fly Trap? Comic books? You'd be surprised how nerdy 'normal' girls are. I met a couple cheer leaders who were in love with Star Wars. Just find their inner nerd and you're in. Plus, I don't know why you're going for normal girls in the first place. They're normally vapid and ignorant which makes for boring conversation.

    thinkgeek.com - For fun gifts.
