i'm not going to lie - when it's naked, i like it a lot

i also grew up with the original Mario and the duck shooting game (with the orange gun)
but these new 8-Bit pets don't really bring up any of those fond memories for me

They failed big time on the kougra.
The chomby is a major win however

I like the idea, but I think it was poorly executed. For one, it's too big. It would look a lot better if it were half-sized (like the baby ones) so that it looked more like an 8-bit sprite and less like a pixellated monstrosity.

This is a good point.
I don't see why they thought it was necessary to make it so big.

I think they just made it the same size as all of the other (non-baby) pets. This way it still fits all of their layout coding. It just doesn't look as good at this size as the others do.

I must say that I like the 8-bit pets because of the memories they bring back... but they really should have waited a while. They put out too many new colours recently and if they haven't already completely run out of ideas (Which they may well have) then by putting them out this fast they soon will. Then people will get annoyed that they aren't putting out anything new. Moderation is key

I can't believe I missed this thread, and I actually like this new color. It brings back the nostalgic feel of playing SNES games.

I love the Chomby, but the Kougra... I had to sort of strain my eye when I look at it. Seems way, way too rough. But the Chomby without clothes looks great!

I really don't like unrealistic pets... like that thing looks like it stepped out of an old computer... and I mean unrealistic as in it doesn't feel normal/not 3d... actually I can only think of this one being my unlikes...

LMAO! 8-bit is an amazing color. I love it as I grew up in the era of games that had characters whom looked like that haha.

Good to see TNT bring some retro things into the game I'd love to have an 8-bit pet, specifically a Chomby haha
