So how come every web looks the same?
Dreams mean jack shit and that's that.
every web does not look the same. you'd know that if you took the time to study spiders. and its not even saying that every web is different. its saying that the webs themselves are intricate things and theres all these different things and details that go into making them. id like to see you make a web. You can't, can you? Didn't think so.
Guess no one knows about mine? :-/
Look it up jesse, hyperdictionary.com. its better if you look it up yourself.
Last summer I had to take summer school and one night I dreamt I was some other girl and i was in the bathroom there with a bag of pills and I was gonna get high off them but a supervisor came in and caught me and I got expelled. The next day I went to my summer school class and a girl said to someone, "Did you hear about Vanessa? She got caught in the bathroom with aderol and got kicked out." I don't know who this Vanessa person was and never saw her before. She didn't even go to my school. CREEPY.

Not believing in it doesn't make it not exist. Just sayin.I don't believe in coincidence.

I could say the very same for not believing in the meanings behind dreams

Sure, you could say that. The difference is that not believing in coincidence implies a lack of free will, i.e. predetermination. Not believing in a supposed meaning in dreams merely implies some knowledge of the chemical processes that cause dreams.I could say the very same for not believing in the meanings behind dreams

I'm not so sure about that =/Sure, you could say that. The difference is that not believing in coincidence implies a lack of free will, i.e. predetermination. Not believing in a supposed meaning in dreams merely implies some knowledge of the chemical processes that cause dreams.
Predeterminism doesn't necessarily rule out coincidence... coincidence implies a lack of meaning, not a lack of predetermination.
It's complex. I don't believe in free will, but I do believe in coincidence.

I believe that everything happens for a reason, not necessarily easy to see while you are going through it but in retrospect you can clearly see the path that brought you to be the person that you are today. I believe that there is a flexibility to how things work and function so long as the things that are meant to happen still happen.
Stops 1, 2, and/or 3 are not as important as making it from point A to point B and coincidences can happen in between those two points.
Make sense?

Well he could dream about being attacked by a wolf, that wouldn't make it that close to how a real encounter would be... maybe if he were attacked in the past by a wolf
It's also about the anticipation. Having had a frightening nightmare about a wolf-attack the previous night, the ape would probably be more vigilant the next day. It's all speculative(as with most things concerning dreams) but it makes sense to me. And he doesn't need to have been attacked, he may have witnessed an attack on another ape or a wolf attacking a pig etc.
It's complex. I don't believe in free will, but I do believe in coincidence.
That's been bothering me every since one of my proffs put it out during one of his lectures. His exact words: "All matter is governed by deterministic laws and since you are made of matter every choice you make is also deterministic".
I'm still undecided but I can't decide if that indecision is just for my convenience and peace of mind.
I guess I don't have to ask but do you also believe consciousness is an illusion? Ie, no afterlife...just non-existence once you die

Someone above mentioned that insomniacs tend to be stressed out because they don't dream or something.
So, not dreaming > stress > insomnia.
That is so not true, I dream all the time & I still have insomnia
My insomnia isn't as bad now but back when I had insomnia I had sleep paralysis D;
So like I'll lie in bed, unable to fall asleep, and BOOM sleep paralysis.
It's seriously the scariest shit that can happen, especially when I'm afraid of the dark ><
Well anyway, I have a similar dream to the original poster.
I actually have had a number of dinosaur/alien/weird creature taking over the world kind of dreams ever since I was a kid.
& some of them would carry on from where the last dream ended o.o
The dino dreams spanned 3-4 nights I think.
I recently had a Falling Skies-esque type of dream. You know the one where aliens take over the world.
Everyone was hiding on this small hill waiting for IDK what & this mega flying container came towards us.
It was supposed to be a sort of rescue pack with food and whatnot that had been missing & look pretty torn up so people were kinda apprehensive about opening it.
But they did anyway & out jumped like freaking aliens which started killing everyone so we ran over the hill into this town.
Everyone ran one way but for some reason my dad ran the other way so I followed him to make sure he's safe.
Turns out he hurt his leg or smth & went to get help from a clinic so I ran to find the others to tell them that.
However I met them halfway & they were running back cos there were aliens from the other side & somehow only I went back to the clinic.
We switched off all the lights so the aliens wouldn't find us but they did anyway.
So the aliens were freaking scary, having like weird shit powers and weapons, and deciding how they would kill us.
& then I developed some sort of lightning laser extension from my feet (LOL!) that I used to stab the aliens.
& then I woke up
I used to not have such 'traumatic' dreams lol. Most of my dreams were rather.. happy?
My dreams are starting to get kinda violent
As for lucid dreaming, I've been trying to get into the 'mode' but have been unsuccessful
The one & only time I've lucid dreamt was when I dreamt that I was at a honey farm with my family.
My mom told me that the honey was really nice and I should try some, offering a jar of honey.
For some stupid reason, I stuck my entire arm into the jar and as I took it out, bees swarmed my arm.
I then realised that it was too damn stupid to be reality & realised it was a dream.
I woke up very soon later though, bees freak me out
*Sidenote* I just bought an item off AAA for 5NP & profit 70k o.o My first buy from AAA

There's nothing else that can happen after you die. Non-existence is it.That's been bothering me every since one of my proffs put it out during one of his lectures. That doesn't make consciousness an illusion, though. Consciousness is an emergent property of the arrangement of matter in our brains that represents an accurate-enough model of reality to increase the odds of survival.
P.S: Earl Grey shouldn't be drunk with milk. Blech.

Another really weird dream that I had was, that we got a new sink and when I turned the water on, some seaanimals came out. A crab too. I felt weird about that and asked my mom what to do. She put them in a bag and handed it to me, telling me I should bring them out to a lake or something. I dropped the bag and the crab pinched my toe. I woke up from kicking my poor cat, who was sleeping by my feet out of my bed...
The next night a waterpipe broke in our house and it was totally flooded. I was SOOOOO creeped out!

Then suddenly my heart rate shot up and parts of my body started pulsing uh violently?? /doesn't know how to explain it, and I couldn't move my body at all... For some reason my mind was telling me that I was probably reacting really badly to some drug? But.. Idk, I haven't tried anything like that before
So I was laying there on the bed for what felt like a few seconds, then those three friends I was hanging out with came in the room and stood over me, just watching, then left.
Then I woke up! 8D
Also in one of last night's dreams, I was on holiday in one of the Scandinavian countries (probably Denmark, taking past dreams into consideration! :9), staying in some lodge next to a beautiful lake in some forest near a mountain!! It was so much fun, heheheh~ <3

I awoke in a dark room ( for some reason a lot of my dreams seem to begin like this )
I wondered around until I found a door leading to presumably a long, unlit hallway.
I kept walking, and walking, and walking, getting nowhere, but at the same time felt like I was miles away from where I had started.
I felt like I had been walking for hours, when in the distance I saw a light. It looked far away, but I kept walking towards it.
I started to run towards it.
I started to feel like I was being followed by someone or something.
I kept turning around, but the hallway was so dark I couldn't make anything out, other than that light in the distance.
The light eventually went out.
I tried to run faster, started to hear what sounded like a scuttling noise behind me, sort of like HUNDREDS of feet tapping on a floor.
Eventually, I just gave up and started running.
Lights came on all around me, and I was in a white cube shaped room.
The floor dropped out from under me, and I fell.
I woke up.
I normally do not remember my dreams, but when I do, they are very vivid and realistic.

>Old house was sold, gotta go fix it up
>Get over there
>Everything starts off looking fine
>Talk to the family about cleaning the place up
>Start cleaning
>Look around the yard
>Start to notice some spider webs, meh
>Over the course of the dream more and bigger webs are coming into view
>Suddenly thousands of spiders are swarming the webs slung across the roofs and other areas of the house
>The rock pit in the front yard rustles and a giant black widow(?) appears from underneath
I just hate spiders.

I actually remember a part of a dream from last night. I rarely remember dreaming at all, so it's kind of neat that you posted this today.
I usually remember a little bit of my dream right when I wake up, and then 5 minutes later I forget everything cX ~
I've heard that if you wake up during a dream, you will remember it for something like 5 minutes and then you lose memory of it... So this would make sense

"Seeing a veterinarian in your dream indicates that you need to tame your instinctive behavior and unconscious self such that it will be more acceptable in your waking life."
>.>
"Alternatively, dogs may symbolize intuition, loyalty, generosity, protection, and fidelity. Your own values and intentions will enable you to go forward in the world and succeed. If the dog is dead or dying, then it indicates a loss of a good friend. Alternatively, it represents a deterioration of your instincts. Seeing a happily barking dog in your dream, symbolizes pleasures and much social activity."
Conflicting.
The other day this girl I've started seeing came over after school and we layed in my bed and napped together. When I fell asleep I had the most bizarre dream. I dreamt I was laying there with her, like I was, sleeping, like I was, and dreaming, like I was. And in the dream of me dreaming I could tell I was dreaming and that I was paralyzed but that I kept trying to get closer to the girl, just kept pulling myself closer. I was wimpering and crying in my sleep and I couldn't wake up and I could hear her in the dream ask if I was okay and I couldn't make the words to tell her what was happening. And then in the dream the doorbell rang so I could finally get up and get it and there was some kid at the door so I just closed it on him and jumped back into bed. When I actually for real woke up I asked the girl if I was crying in my sleep and she said no... It was so scary....
"Dreaming that you are dreaming means your emotional state. You are excessively worried and fearful about a situation or circumstance that you are going through."
So true.
"Symbolically, dreaming that you are paralyzed may mean you are feeling helpless or pinned down in some aspect or circumstances of your waking life. You may feel unable to deal with a situation or that you can't do or change anything. Alternatively, you may feel emotionally paralyzed. You may have difficulties in expressing yourself."
