It's more the fact that someone is being called "a version" of someone else. I would say the same if someone said, for example, that iargue is a dumber, less articulate version of PING. I just find it insulting to compare people to other people.

I meant no offense to Sweeney and I fail to see how that was insulting to him.

I was just pointing out that Frizzle makes failed attempts to emulate Sweeney.
