Yes, but not in the way that you might expect. I actually prefer to go to class and do my homework high; it makes the topics I'm studying 100x more interesting and I focus much better. This applies to everything, from math, science and english, to more creative subjects like painting and graphic design. ^_^

Strange as it may seem, one of my favorite things to do is smoke a bowl and study. xD

Also, I love to paint after a few drinks. It definately helps me to be more creative and think "outside of the box." ;)

Now I'm just imagining you finger painting, stepping back every 3 seconds to admire your work, drunk or high, and thinking it's all amazing and that everyone else will think so too, just like Ralphie in "A Christmas Story" thought his theme about the Red Ryder carbine-action, two hundred shot range model air rifle with a compass in the stock and this thing which tells time was all that.

Yeah when they're hardworking individuals that deserve the money and not big American corporations.

I haven't tried painting/drawing high yet, as weird as this may sound since I started my major (3 years) I have smoked just a few times, as opposed to my high school when I used to go drunk and high to classes every time... I've been getting artblocks constantly when illustrating, and I was thinking if maybe smoking couldn't help me sometimes

It's not uncommon in my program to do pot (we talk a lot about philosophy and theories). Even the professors are stoners (obviously they don't smoke during school hours), but I know some brilliant people who smoke weed before class and you can't tell. I light up once in a while, just not in school, before I'm writing a paper or some assignment. However, I don't do it often and I am not addicted to marijuana in a way that would impact my life - negatively or otherwise.

I've recently started abusing benzodiazepines, and they've really improved my daily coursework/attitude on campus (even when I do or do not get a wide-eyed high). I really wouldn't advise people who don't have severe anxiety to take them, but for me it's really made a grand difference even when I'm doing them recreationally. That being said, I don't enjoy drinking and I'm really adverse to smoking anything at all (C + O2 -> CO2 IN YOUR LUNGS, PEOPLE! EAT BROWNIES INSTEAD.); unless you need a dose of creativity or a different perspective, keeping your head tends to be more reliable for most than not.

No-one. Most stoners are usually lazy, not stupid.

Well clearly, I am neither. Making the deans list doesn't happen for lazy people.

I got on the dean's list and I'm a lazy shit.

I'm also taking high school equivalent courses.

You could be taking incredibly easy courses and still get on the same list.

Well I'm a functioning alcoholic (only on the weekends when I'm free) and that's how I always did pot, too.  Never on a night when I had to do something the next day (and I don't smoke at all now because I don't want to get deported here).  But the only way that has ever affected me is when I was drunkenly singing in karaoke and lost my voice.

And I took my ex's adderall during spring break my last year and wrote my thesis in five days.

Back when I was a teenager and pot = bush bud (no added chemicals, hydroponics etc) it used to be motivational. I quit smoking it in my 20's and quite recently was offered a toke on a joint when I was out with some friends and the experience was not a nice one. I found myself withdrawn and quite paranoid. I don't know what they are doing with it these days, but it just ain't right ;p

But brownies make you fat. The answer is vaporizing.

I never smoke pot before I go to class because the last thing you want to do is be high and suffer through accounting. But I smoke pretty regularly and I haven't had any problems with getting my work done or getting good grades.

My brother smokes pretty regularly and it actually seems to help his performance, from what he tells me - he's a VERY high strung kid and freaks out about everything, but pot helps him relax and be able to focus and not nitpick over every detail. He's actually quite smart, so I think it allows him to realize that he can just count on his own capabilities and not worry to the point of distraction. I tried it myself a few days ago, but didn't care for the sensation - it just made me super sleepy and feeling like every movement was a second slower than it should have been. I'm already on prescription drugs, though, so maybe it would be better without those?

As for prescription drugs, they definitely affected my performance, but thankfully in a good way. I've been on Prozac and Concerta (slow release form of Ritalin) for about six/seven years now and while I'd like to wean off them and am currently trying to work off the Concerta since I'm done school, I'm grateful for what they did while I was in school and college. I've never been and never will be an excellent student, but similar to my brother with pot it made me less panicked about every little thing and more able to sit down in class and relax.

I graduated high school in the early 90's, by that time I was a regular pot smoker. I smoked pot before all of my major exams and passed with flying colours, and honours in English no less. That being said, pot back then was very different to the pot floating around these days. I only ever smoked bush bud, which is home grown and no added chemicals. Pot today seems to be laced with this, altered by that and nothing like the old school stuff I used to happily toke in my teenage years.

I've got a shady history with drugs, one that I am not particularly proud of but by the same token I refuse to regret because I am 100% happy with where I am today. Drugs can take you to a really shitty place if you allow them to rule your life and I think that if you are going to use them with any regularity then you need to remember that you should be taking them to enhance and not escape.
