If they had the password they wouldn't need to CG them.

 

 

 

You can CG the person and then when they log in you have the PW.

They also can't really do anything, even if they do manage to get the cookie, if the account is pinned, right?

 

 

But if you CG them with the password, you can change it to your liking right? unless there's the pin number to stop you

 

 

It used to be long ago that once you had the cookie you could stay logged in indefinitely. Now if you grab their cookies you have 15 minutes MAX to move everything off the account. If the account is pinned then you have 15 minutes to beg someone to give you the pin off the pin lists floating around and move all the items. The cookies don't show the account password in plain text. They're also salted so you can't decrypt them. So once the 15 minute period where the account can be accessed from two places is over you lose account access.

Does anyone else here get random friend requests from like 1 month accounts that look empty, beside one pet? I'm sure they are suspicious I haven't had any troubles, although I do use adblock, and the 'Login Birthday Prompt' that Neo offers on the 'Site Preferences...' so I wonder if that makes a difference...?

That's really useful info, I had no idea they worked like that. I thought they got your password and someone was constantly trying to get into my account with the old password they were given. So is there no point in changing your password if you think you've been CG'd? Is it best just to pin everything if you haven't already and hope you're okay?

If you are worried you've been CG'd the best thing to do is instantly change your password then log out and log back in. That'll remove their access to your account right away.

So I guess they didn't have access to my old password. I'm hoping it was just a glitch that was preventing me from logging in, or some jerk that kept trying lock me out, but either way, case closed for me

I don't think anyone can right now either. Joe's list is outdated and I'm sure if he could get an updated list he would. Idk I don't mess with that stuff, it's really lame.
