Can we not just have a program scrape for restocks, refreshing every second or so to establish IF there is a pattern?

You can get refresh banned in there now apparently too.

:/ well we'll just have to use multiple accounts or multiple instances of the scrape program running?

IE. When one account gets refresh banned your next account on the list is signed in and takes over refreshing until it's banned and so forth.

This would probably be the most efficient way to analyze the refresh pattern.

Yeah, that's the way to do it, but it's possible that neopets have set a really soft restock ban limit. We need to analyse data over a long period of time to figure out exactly what the restock characteristics are...

How can you tell if you're refresh banned? I thought it just showed no new items in stock if you were banned?

Multiple accounts refreshing simultaneously would be able to determine that very thing.

I'm not sure what kind of data Abrosia and the Item DB record about restocks, but if any is, I'm sure it's being analysed by Laser and co.

It never hurts to get extra data if anybody else is wanting to help out though. ;) We've worked some things out about the changes but there's still some key things we haven't worked out yet.

I got banned within about 5-10 refreshes a couple of days ago. :/ And now I just got banned again within a few minutes.

I think the ban may be glitched. I've refreshed every 5-10 seconds for several minutes. Get the error about how I've bought something recently but a few refreshes later that error message is gone.
