Q: I am new to NeoCodex. What should I know?

Q: Where are the rules located?

Q: What are safe settings for Abrosia?
A: Never ask anyone for their settings because your buy speeds are highly dependent on your unique internet speed and PING responses to the Neopets/Viacom servers. For instance, someone on the east coast with a 0.4 second haggle delay might buy things from shops in 1000ms, while someone on the west coast will buy it in 1800ms with the same exact settings. Using someone else's times will NOT result in the same buy speeds, and may result in you being frozen. The best way to know what settings are safe for you is to start by simply using the default settings. They were tested for months to ensure that they balance profit and security. If you want to adjust them, try buying items in the Tiki Tack and work slowly to adjust your buy times to be between 1500 and 1800ms, which is usually close to how fast humans can buy. The slower your buy time, the less chance of being frozen.
Q: How do I get access to the trading post?
A: To get access to the Trading Post, you need to be a member of the site for a week (7 days) and have 10 non-spam posts on the forums. People who spam their way to 10 posts may have their post count reduced to 0.
Q: I successfully traded for the first time here and I was asked to leave a trader feedback. What do I do?
A: Click on their forum name which is found in every of their posts. This will lead you to their member profile. On the top right, click a bar called “Leave Feedback” between “Send Me A Message” and “Find Content”. Fill out that form accordingly. If you have suspicion that the person may have scammed you, do not fill out this form and report the user immediately.
Q: What does the Advanced Subscription do for me, and how do I get it?
A: You can simply pay 4.99 USD (or monetary equivalents) in a recurring monthly payment in the NeoCodex Store. Advanced Subscription provides the following services.
-Abrosia
-1. Custom wait and delay times
-2. Pick what shop you visit
-3. Purchase items from the Attic
-Neon AP
-Move items from Shop to Trading post

Q: I paid for the Advanced Subscription but am not an Advanced member, or I have a payment issue regarding the matter.
A: PM an administrator for assistance. If you want to cancel your subscription and originally paid through Paypal, you can instantly cancel it yourself. You first navigate to My Account, then Profile. Then from My Money on the left side bar, click Update from "My preapproved payments". Under the merchant "tektonik LLC", select cancel and that is it.
Q: What is Advanced+?
A: Advanced+ is a title granted by the community to those who have taken the time to get to know the members of our little internet village, primarily by actively posting on our forums. Advanced+ members have the benefits of a lifetime Advanced Subscription without having to pay for it. They also have access to the Advanced+ forum where they can nominate new members to the rank.
Q: How do I become Advanced+?
A: The current Advanced+ members nominate those who have reached a certain criteria and the rest of the subgroup discuss/vote as to whether or not to grant the position. The criteria itself varies from person to person. This guide explains possible criteria as to why people are voted in.
Q: What is Private?
A: Private is a title granted by the community to those who contribute to Neocodex in a significant way. They have all the benefits of Advanced Membership plus a series of Perks, some of which are public information and some of which are not, including for instance, a private subforum. Private is unique among the Neocodex member ranks, because members of the community apply instead of being nominated for this rank. A certain amount of initiative is encouraged and welcomed here. This is the rank for overachievers.
Q: How do I become a Private Member?
A: At the beginning of each month Private applications are opened for a week (via the Apply tab). All users who have been members for twelve months or more, have made at least 1000 posts and who feel that their contributions, activity and/or helpfulness are up to scratch, are invited to apply. Around two weeks from the opening of applications, results are usually posted. Personal Messages are also sent to all applicants informing them of the status of their applications.
The application process is your chance to shine! Feel free to be a little outspoken and toot your own horn. The application questions are designed to let you talk about yourself and your time at Neocodex. If you've done something extraordinary that not everyone will have read about (a lot of things happen on a forum every day!) bring it to the attention of the voters so they take it into account. Our Staff team along with the Private Leader will discuss the applications among one another and vote potential candidates in or not.
General Program Questions

Q: Where can I download the programs?
A: All of the programs are accessible through the one-time download Neocodex Program Manager.
Q: Are the programs safe to use?
A: All of our programs are safe to use. They were all thoroughly tested for functionality, being virus-free, and for low freeze rate probability. The default settings of any program greatly reduce the chance of being frozen. With that said, use caution when cheating; avoid abusing risky settings such as times and scores, multiple programs on the same account at the same time, limit extended use, and multi-threading with different accounts (without proxies). The best way to check safety is to think if a capable human being can perform those actions. If someone can’t restock/play games for over 6 hours without breaks, it’s best to avoid using a program to do so. With over 250 active members each day, you can confidently use the programs knowing that they are usually safe when used correctly. However, keep in mind that using programs, no matter how safe, always has a chance of freezing. NeoCodex is not responsible for any frozen accounts as a result of misuse.
Q: Will I get frozen for using X program?
A: There is no definite YES/NO answer because freeze rates depend on the nature of the program, how it is being used, and even on the whimsical freezing spree of TNT. The Abrosia MS/Igloo/Attic Autobuyer (ABer) and the Score Sender (SSer) have the highest risk of being frozen. The common reasons for being frozen with these programs are autobuying (ABing) in high risk shops such as Stamps and Magic/inhuman speeds and scoresending (SSing) inhuman times/scores. The rest of the programs are known to have a very low freeze rate, and only result in freezing if they are blatantly abused.
Q: Can I play Neopets while a program is running on the same account?
A: NO. All the programs act as another browser playing Neopets. Red flags will be raised from the same account that is sending different requests at the same exact time. Also, the program will eventually log you out of your account because of said site requests.
Q: Can I run X program with X program at the same time applied to the same Neopets account?
A: NO. All programs send too many site requests to be safely used with other programs, and run a high risk of getting you frozen for the same reason as the previous question.
Q: I got frozen, what do I do?
A: Start rebuilding, send a ticket inside the game requesting for your account back and learn from your mistakes.
Q: How do I make lots of Neopoints (NP)?
A: Making NP usually requires you to understand how NP are made and how to take advantage of the system. The basic guide to making NP is to use the Autoplayer (APer) programs to get startup cash, and then buy items from shops and sell them to others for much higher amounts. The most common mistake that beginners make is to think you can only make money with high-profit items, and always try for morphing potions and stamps. There are thousands more low-profit items than there are morphing potions/stamps, and you can easily make plenty of money from ABing buyable items. Look at Scot's Super System and Super System 2 guides for examples.
Q: I'm experiencing an error with the programs, where do I post for help?
A: Please find the appropriate program topic and read the previous posts to see if your issue has already been resolved in this sub forum. Abrosia has its own dedicated sub forum. Feel free to post if your error has not been addressed as of yet.
Q: What programs work with the Mac?
A: All programs in the program manager currently work with Mac. If one or more of the programs are not working, please check with the Neopets Program Forum to see if you have similar problems with other members before contacting an administrator.
Q: What programs are currently not working?
A: All available programs in the NeoCodex Program Manager are currently working. If one or more of the programs are not working, please check with the Public Neopets Program sub forum to see if you have similar problems with other members before contacting a programmer.
Q: When I close a program, an error message pops up. Should I worry about it?
A: NO. It’s a reaction to a command prompt suddenly ending and is similar to how you get an error pop up when your internet suddenly goes down. This doesn’t affect the chances of being frozen.
Q: Where can I make a suggestion for a new program?
A: Please use the search feature extensively to double check if a similar suggestion has already been made. Search with several combinations of words matching the program you want made, as well as skimming through the Program Suggestion
sub forum to see if anyone else has suggested it before. If not, you can make a topic there.
Q: Do the programs work with Premium?
A: YES, however, please disable your Premium Bar before using our programs. The bar causes errors.
Q: How do I use a proxy?

Q: I've been running Abrosia for hours and I've gotten nothing. What gives?
A: This sometimes is normal for the program because shops restock randomly and there is fierce competition with every legit restocker or ABer out there. There is always a chance that when you refresh in the shop you have already missed a restock. Generally, lowering your profit, picking a less competitive shop, and reducing your refresh times will allow you to see items much more often (though refreshing faster will increase the rate at which you get restock banned). Reducing your buy times (MS Pre-Haggle/Igloo/Attic Buy delay + OCR Page Delay) may increase your chances of buying an item but it will increase your risk of being frozen.
Q: Abrosia is saying that I'm Restock banned. Help?
A: After a certain amount of refreshes in a shop within a period of time (seems to be random), Neopets will lock you out from restocking. The effect is that you will no longer be able to see any items in any of the Main Shops. The ban usually runs out in 12 hours, though some are shorter, and others are longer. There is nothing you can do but wait. To check if you are currently shop banned, check out shops that never lose stock, such as Tiki Tack in Mystery Island or Spring Shop in Roo Island.
Q: Where can I find lists for the Score Sender?
A: It’s always best to make your own custom list. You can always search the forum as others have posted their score sending lists, especially during Daily Dare/Altador Cup/Games Master Challenger events. Read the topic before you use their lists to see if it gets people frozen and then use them at your own risk.
Q: The Score Sender keeps telling me I was logged out. Should I be worried?
A: NO. This is issue with the Score Sender. Occasionally, the Score Sender will say you were logged out AND the score was not sent successfully. You are not at risk of being frozen because of it, and it does not make you look suspicious. We are constantly looking into a way to fix this, but because of the randomness and nature of this error, it is proving very difficult. You are not actually logged out, but your score was not processed successfully.
Q: The ShapeShifter Solver says that I've reached the max level but I'm not at 100.
A: The ShapeShifter program is the fastest in existence, and is thus limited to everyone based upon post count only. We take your post count and divide it by 5, and that is the highest level that you can reach. For example, it takes 500 posts to reach level 100.

A: Unfortunately, awards are not automatically given. You must request your award here and someone from the staff will manually add it into your profile.
Q: Are there restrictions on Signatures?

A: As long as it’s not asking for trade requests, Lenny Conundrum/Mystery Pic answers, or anything else already heavily dedicated to a sub forum, you may use the status updates. Click on the drop down arrow on the top toolbar beside your forum name to write your status update.

Q: What are Unregistered Accounts, and why are they not allowed to be traded?
A: Read Boggart's Unregistered Emails Guide. Due to the high risk of losing the account, and the fact that the account is stolen, they are not allowed to be traded.
Q: You guys are cheaters/hackers, why can I not sell stolen items here?
A: Using a program to do things for you is much different than stealing someone else's work. Thievery is not tolerated in any way, shape, or form at NeoCodex. If you steal someone else's work, you are not allowed to sell it here. We do this both because of moral reasons and because it puts our traders at high risk of getting frozen.
Q: I have made several non-spam posts but my post count has not increased. What is going on?!
A: Some sections of the forum such as the Trading Post, Introduction, General Entertainment, and Chit-Chat don't contribute to your post count.
Q: Someone is harassing me, what do I do?
A: PM a staff member for help and they will look into it and assist you. You may also use the Report button located at the bottom right corner of all posts to report inappropriate content to staff.
Q: I have a faerie quest, where can I post to get help on it?
A: Visit the Item Database link at the top of the page, search for the item, and on the right side there will be a "Shop Owners" feature that lists user shops with the item in it.
Q: An item is priced incorrectly in the database, what do I do?
A: If the item is worth over 100k in our database, or marked as unpriced, you can either price it yourself if you are an Advanced+ member or you can post here to have someone else update it. If the item is worth under 100k, then it will be updated automatically by Abrosia.
Q: There is a new plot on Neopets, where can I get help with this?
A: We have an entire section dedicated to Plot Tracking.
Q: Are we allowed to post answers to Mystery Pictures or Lenny Conundrum?
A: We have an entire section dedicated to that. As far as the Mystery Picture goes, Waser Lave will provide the answer to the Advanced Subscription and Advanced+ members minutes after Neopets releases a new one, and then will give normal members the answer before the next one starts. Do not share any of the answers in this section to anyone. PERIOD. We do notice when answers are leaked to other forums and we will remove access to those who have done so, no questions asked.
Q: I wrote a guide, or am looking for a guide on a game. Where do I go?
Q: I had the Advanced Subscription and suddenly I became a normal member again. What happened?
A: If you recently changed your email, IPB places you in the "Unverified" group. After you verify that, it places you in the incorrect group. Rather than placing you at your old group, it just shoved you back as a normal member. Contact a staff member to fix this.
Q: What is Internet Relay Chat (IRC)?
A: IRC is a text-only group real time chatting function. Meaning that you can join a room and chat with multiple people from the site in real time, just like using an Instant Messaging system. To join this room and get started, hover over the Community tab at the top bar and click the Chat button. If you prefer to use your own client, the IRC details are Server: irc.freenode.net Channel: #neocodex
Q: What is Tinychat (TC)?
A: TC is an offsite video chat room that is visited by many members of the site. It is not an official part of the site, and thus the rules of NeoCodex do not apply, but should still be used as guidelines. There are TC moderators, separate from the forum moderators that will oversee TC. On the slight chance, sometimes password protection is enabled. Q: How does TC differ from IRC?
A: between TC and IRC is that TC offers the ability to chat using mic or webcam as well as text, while IRC is text only. While the staff does visit TC, the members of TC are usually readily available to help with forum or Neopets questions. However, IRC is the preferred place for getting help.

Q: What is Retired?
A: Retired is rank held by people on the forum who have greatly helped the site with a number of things or have been around and liked for a long time (or both). Usually it marks the period of when a person has been active in the community for a long time and developed friendships. Retired members have their own section to hang out and chat in, mostly because they all have busy lives and like to reminisce about things that newer members wouldn't know about. Some newer members are also part of Retired, because they were very friendly and helpful, or well liked. Holding the Retired rank is a sign of respect, however, it is just a title and does not give them rights over the rest of the site. Aside from that though, Retired members usually have some sway in what new ideas are implemented to the site and (most of the time) receive a preview of what is to come, before regular members do.
Q: How do I become Retired?
A: Retired has the same process of voting in members as the Advanced+ in their own subforum.
Q: What is a Moderator?
A: Moderators are entrusted to keep a watch over the site and deal with any issues that may arise at the time. If you find any rules being broken by another member, please contact a moderator by reporting their message (the report button is found at the bottom right of every post).
Q: What is the Contest Team?
A: This group is responsible for bringing new, exciting contests and activity-inducing awesomeness to the official NeoCodex Competitions forum. Note: As a regular member, you are more than welcome to host your own competitions in the forum; we even encourage you to do so.
Q: What is a Beta Tester?
A: They are group who finds issues, reports them and verifies that they are fixed before the software makes it into the hands of the general public. They are here to TEST; it is their responsibility to be thorough and concise when reporting issues and because of this, being repeatedly frozen is another factor they face. Testing a program thoroughly includes pushing the program to its limits.
Q: How do I become a member of the Contest Team, a Moderator, a Beta Tester or other positions at NeoCodex?
A: Keep checking the Announcements and Notices for any available openings. Information about applications or general information will be posted there. If there is no recent notice about openings the moment you check there, then chances are we are not currently looking for applicants.
