Exactly. It's a challenge. I like challenges.

A masochistic challenge.  :p

Not religious, but I've been thinking about giving up sodas. Or possibly candy/sweets.

Yeah, I've pretty much given up soda except for the occasional one when I go out to eat or when I go to the movies. I've only ever liked Diet Coke anyway, and I'm kind of bored of the taste now.

    So. Uh, yeah. Lent. Totes.

Not really sure what I should give up for lent. I had a friend in high school who gave up chocolate, but I'm pretty sure she had some weak days :p

    Oh yeah, Lent!

I've considered chocolate, but I feel like I would just indulge more on other sweets.

Maybe I'll give up drinking anything other than water. I seriously need to up my water intake anyway.

Ugh, same. I get headaches all the time because I don't drink enough water (I had one before and thankfully it just went away). Maybe I could give up sugary drinks? Or drinking too much caffeine? Do those even count?

We should set a daily water intake goal for ourselves, and a maximum caffeine limit! That's do-able, right? I'm pretty much living on caffeine right now until I get my thyroid sorted out, but I am sure I could survive on less than I normally drink in a day.

Definitely do-able! My mom always tells me how much I should drink a day, but I always forget what the amount is. I get these dehydration headaches frequently. You'd think I'd learn.

Apparently 2-4 cups of coffee a day is moderate, and the adequate intake of water a day for women is about 9 cups. I think we can do this.

You could give up sugary drinks and replace them with water. Lent is where you replace what you give up with something positive :p

Sorry, my coffee contains sugar, and I can't give that up completely :p That's like asking a fish to give up water.

Okay, not quite, but I ain't givin' up me coffee!

That's my ringtone right now xD

    But YES LET'S DO THIS.

I can definitely handle two caffeinated drinks a day. I could probably go down to one, if I really wanted to. I am sure the increased water intake would help even out my energy levels in the absence of caffeine, right? RIGHT?! I will tell myself it will anyway, even if it's hogwash.

I asked about.com and it said I should drink about 2-2.5 liters a day, which is consistent with your 9 cups. I'm looking forward to this :)

You could just opt out the sugar, then your coffee wouldn't be a sugary drink :p

But plain coffee is gross. Plus, I don't actually put sugar in my coffee. It's just the sugar in the creamer that makes it sugary.

YES! I need to be hydrated again. I drink maybe... three cups of coffee a day. I can definitely narrow that down to 1-2. It'll save me a bit of money at my school's coffee shop at least.

Just start using less and less creamer every week. It's not as hard as you might think.

Also, far superior in every way.

Also, taste your coffee before you add creamer/sugar and it will take less for it to taste sweet.

Hahaha. When he got home, he told me he overheard the woman tell her daughter she was giving up Starbucks for Lent.

I've given up most of my bad habits this year already tbh.

I'm kind of in this boat. Also, lent kind of snuck up on me this year.  xD

My bf said "For Lent I’m just giving up in general". Silly goose.

I figured out what I'm giving up for lent... Alcohol, I drink probably once a week, but never too much. I can go 40 days I think.

She'll be rich in 40 days. Verily verily, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.

I think this would be super easy for me. I have a casual drink probably once every week or two. Cutting that out would be no problem.
