I don't have a cell phone :p Otherwise I probably would.

how do you live without a phone?! I get all twitchy even if I accidentally leave mine at home. Shows how reliant i am on technology :/

    I freak out when I can't find my phone, and then feel so dumb when I realize it's in my pocket.

    haha yep. I even get the phantom phone vibrates and will keep checking my phone to see if anyone called/texted. Then I realize I'm not cool enough to be called or texted :p

    I have a landline? lol
    I don't know.. I used to be like that when I was like.. 17.
    But then I started sleep texting people and decided it was probably a good idea to get rid of it. I've saved shit tons of money, so that helps.

    oh geez, i've never actually sleep texted (or even called) anyone before. The butt dialing can get annoying though. I need to have a phone since I use it as a resource. I'm currently in my fourth year Pharmacy rotations and use my phone to pull information on rounds in the hospital.

    yea that's the worst haha.

    I wouldn't be able to go without a cell phone since texting is my primary form of communication with friends/family who don't live nearby. I would rather text than talk on the phone anyday.

    I definitely think they can be very useful, don't get me wrong :p Just not for me.
    I have internet, a laptop, a home phone.
    I'm home all the time so there's not really any reason for me to have a cell phone.

    I enjoy basically everything I do and have no interest in proving that I can go without things for the sheer sake of it. No lent for me.

    Ah, I understand. I didn't mean to come across as a coffee snob, I'll drink anything that vaguely looks or smells like coffee. Even instant coffee.  :mellow:

    Nah you didn't. ^.^ if I had the funds to do so, I would be a total coffee snob. haha

    My cousin got some AMAZZZZINNNG coffee from a shop up in Ohio (where she lives) and gave it to my bf one year for xmas (she had drawn his name in the gift exchange). Man... I wish I could get my hands on some of that stuff again. We went through that bad SO fast hahaha

    I'm giving up fried foods for lent. Cautiously optimistic about making it through this. ^^;;

    I considered giving up coffee but that would be a total lost cause. I can't imagine making it through work without it!

    I gave up procrastinating, which is a thing that I really love to do.

    40 days and I'll be back at it. ;_;

    I really admire that. I wish that I could say the same :( Too much crap in my life that I need to cut out :p

    Oh there's plenty I could and probably should give up. :p For quite a long time I believed coffee and cigarettes were a food group...

    But I like gin, I like steak, the odd coffee, the occasional cigarette. I just don't have any interest in trying to give any of it up!

    Meh, as a minimalist, I try to cut down a lot of unnecessary things all the time. If anything, I need to up the fruit/veggie intake, and I don't think Lent is about adding more things to your life. :p

    Actually, lent is where you cut the unnecessary stuff and add the positive. Giving up something is really only half the battle :p

    Actually, it's not about 'unnecessary' stuff, it's about giving up things that bring you pleasure, it's a sacrifice. There are plenty of things people could give up that aren't necessary, but wouldn't feel any sense of longing or anything about it. It should be something that you would miss a lot if it were gone. In the churches I've gone to, people usually gave something up and added something in, but it the something they added wasn't about them, it was about other people or God. (ie, x amount of prayer/day, x amount of things donated/week, x amount of hours in volunteer work, etc)

    I believe Catholics follow 'fap': fasting, almsgiving, and prayer as their Lent guide.

    I thought I was gonna be like three pages too late, but then I saw you replied! But yeah, K-Cups are good when you don't really have anything else, but is it just me or do they make the coffee kind of watery? I have a Keurig, but I put grounds in a little cup thing instead of using K-Cups. Last K-Cups I used where the hot chocolate ones and those were pretty good.

    I buy a big box from costco, and I buy anything "bold or dark". I have a fairly large coffee cup so I use two k-cups for one cup. Sometimes you have to try different brands to find one that you like.

    Yeah, I can't even look at light coffee. It's like drinking water with a dash of coffee flavor in it.

    I like the iced coffee at my university's Einsteins though. The balance of taste over the thickness of the liquid is kind of perfect.

    K-cup coffee does tend to taste a little watered down, but I think that's due to the quick brewing process rather than the coffee itself. I don't think the coffee inside K-cups is any different than the pre-ground stuff you buy in a bag or a can, but you do pay more for the convenience. Those filter cups that you fill with your own coffee usually have some sort of mesh rather than the little hole plastic K-cups drip through, so that's probably why it tastes stronger. All of the hot chocolate K-cups I've tried have tasted really watery to me.

    ALSO, dark roasts may taste stronger, but light roast coffee usually has more caffeine.

    I didn't know that, that's pretty interesting. I think I like the taste more than the caffeine aspect, though the caffeine helps.

    Being in school and constantly on the run, I don't have to time to do a slower brew and being the only coffee drinker in the house means it doesn't really make sense to get a drip machine that brews multiple cups worth. I really like my kcups for the convenience factor.  An odd thing i've found is that some instant coffees (nescafe in particular) actually taste better and less watered down. I'm not exactly sure if this is a real thing or if I'm just convincing myself that there's a difference. Has anyone else found this or is it just me?
