Something that really grinds my gears is when people make promises only to intentionally break them later on.  :angry

I do this with plans, all the time. I make plans thinking "yea let's do this, get out of the house" and get really pumped, only to cancel the day before plans, because I get overrun with anxiety and social awkwardness and just want to stay home and do nothing.

wut r friends?

I do that too. I feel guilty about doing it. But, luckily for me, my friends understand, for the most part.

I understand eating one, I mean, how bad can one be for you? But HANDFULS?! Not only is that theft, you could potentially get sick. I can't remember what they're treated with. But the bottom of the box says wash prior to eating. Of course, customers never see the bottom of the box, just the bottom of the bag, which says nothing about it. :/

I was always taught to rinse/clean off any open food you buy. Not only because of chemicals but because of any dirt that could potentially be on it as well. I'm surprised not everyone does that.. :/

Then again I also rinse off anything I put my lips too - like pop cans. Not gonna die from rat urine, no siree.

Liars, people that are habitually late, and People/Places that only enforce rules selectivly even if they are supposedly to be applied to everyone.

Lack of mechanical lubricant or accumulation of dust particles

      :lol2:

I hate it when people judge others with a holier-than-thou attitude. Also hate fake people, e.g. the ones who pretend to act nice but trash-talk everyone else behind their back.

When you're enjoying a lovely summer day with the window open, and then the distinct smell of cigarette smoke comes wafting in like a fart.  It happens every hour or so :S

I don't rinse anything, hardly ever. Unless it's caked in dirt.

Like potatoes, I like a them dusty, adds flavor because I eat the skin.

    I'm still alive and kicking.

Grinds my gears when my neighbor across the way steps out into the hallway to start having a heated fight with someone on her cellphone. Revenge is sweet though, and Liquid Ass works every time.

It grinds my gears when I'm going through a drive through with my friend because she's always condescending to them and then complains when they get our order wrong and she doesn't understand that they're getting our order wrong because she's being condescending to them.

What do you do, spray it through the crack under your front door?

No, I spray it in the entire hallway. There are only 4 apartments per floor, and I am on the first. Hear gagging, retching, and finally a door slamming.

When our horrible neighbors allow their children to run around screaming outside our cheap window and banging on the outside wall of our apartment's thin wall at ungodly hours (and all throughout the day).

When my upstairs neighbors pump their shitty loud hiphop music/bass also at ungodly hours FOR hours.

Being told I've had "multiple infractions" on TDN when the last thing I did (that was wrong) was participate in a discussion about this site. (Remember how I got stung for saying that an SS was like a lighter?) I knew I was going to be smacked for backseat moderating. What I didn't expect was to get a "warning" on my profile that shows one and all that I'm supposedly a "loser" (even though my three biggest warnings have been for {1} gently reminding someone not to post less than seven words, {2} the lighter dealie and {3} defending a fucking moderator!) UGH!

Maybe it wouldn't bother me if I could turn in some mealy-mouthed "I'm sorry" PM to the administration right away, but nooo! I have to wait thirty fucking days! (Sorry if you're one of the few people on here who don't like the F word. I just hate being treated like a child.)

People who feel the need to speak a foreign language at high volumes in quiet public places.

I really don't mind if they speak a non-english language, but I just wish they didn't have to do it so loudly and disrupt everyone.  Otherwise it's just noise to me. D:

That makes me think of something that happened in high school, @Scrafty.

I was on a school trip and three of us went to lunch. Out of the blue, the other two start chattering away in French. And I'm stuck, because I took Spanish.

I realize that French is an official language of Canada (where we were, at the time) and I also realize (ten years later) that I was being obnoxious by kind of grumbling to the waitstaff that they were being obnoxious, but seriously? Can't you hold a conversation in a language everyone understands?

If we hadn't been in a city I'm relatively unfamiliar with (to this day, even) and I hadn't been in the middle of lunch, I would've been "screw you!" and walked off. :p

Were they being loud?  Or were they just speaking another language...?  Because there's no reason to get angry at a group of people for chatting to each other in another language...

Hmm, maybe I wasn't clear enough. (Not trying to be sarcastic, there...I've been told before I can be kind of vague.) Let me try to be more specific...

L, M and J (L being me, at the time) were part of a trip to the Stratford Festival in Canada. Once the bus arrives in Stratford, everyone goes off their own separate ways for lunch, shopping, etc. before the matinee. Somehow, L, M and J end up at an Italian restaurant together and...

M and J start speaking French. (For what reason, I don't know. Americans in Canada showing off their ability to speak one of the national languages?)

But poor L has only taken Spanish.

And this is before smartphones and tablets. (This was ten years ago, so I'm thinking I left my book on the bus. I didn't carry a purse back then, after all.) So L is stuck staring into space for the whole rest of the meal--or at least until M and J deign to return to English.

    See why I was annoyed?

It grinds my gears when people are unhappy with something but don't speak up. That's like complaining about the government in power and you didn't vote.

I was going to say, "Jump in your time machine, go back and ask the eighteen year old me."

But if we're going to use time machines, I might as well go back and hand that same self a book.

    Problem solved, regardless. :D
