When people have a little bubble in their throat. Ya know, you usually get it eating, like, chocolate or something. It makes your voice a slightly higher pitch, and it sounds like you obviously have a bubble in your throat. Yeah, when people DONT CLEAR THEIR THROAT and just continue to talk with the bubble, like no one notices
Also, when people say "whilst". I hate that word. "While" is a better word 99% of the time; why do people use "whilst"?

Because they're educated and know when to use correct English?

When people press the button for the pedestrian crossing AFTER they've crossed the road, then you have to sit at a red light whilst nobody crosses the road ![]()

That's what they like people to think, but that is not the case. I have a minor in English, and I think that "whilst" is only very rarely more correct than "while"

I have to agree with so many of the annoyances here, which makes me wonder If Codex attracts Certain types of people or If everyone likes to annoy everyone else. Anyway What-grinds my gears is when People flatter me to try to get me to do something they're too lazy to do themselves.

Yeah, let's be honest, a degree in "English" attained in the US is essentially a degree in "American". ![]()

People who think because someone is family it allows them a lifetime of "get out of jail free" cards.

In career expansion. Bare in mind, including a masters, it cost £5k. Which is about a third of what people are paying for one year of a degree now ![]()
