This thing is a thing I want. Dragonfruit watermelon? I feel like the watermelon would sort of wash out the dragonfruit, but we are talking alcohol and not an art piece, so I'm sure it's great!

Am I the only one here that doesn't really like alcohol?

I'm not a fan of mixed drinks at all. Straight whiskey shots for me, at least when I go out to the bar, which it's been over a year haha but I get drunk SO fast, and my kids are awake still, so mixed, low alcohol for me, until they're in bed.  

 

It's actually really great, the dragonfruit watermelon. Best thing I've drank in a while.

I didn't drink anything until I was 24. And it took me even longer to find something I actually liked.

Wow that sounds and looks amazing. Damn.. now I want to visit and or move out there. What's the job scene like out there and why did you move to the Peace Region?

 

It depends, in Bella Coola there is no work and hasnt been for years. There are gorgeous log houses and properties for hella cheap out there.it kills me. When I was growing up it was logging and fishing industries that thrived there. The only way in was by ferry, helicopter or a 2 hour drive down very steep mountain switchbacks.

 

We moved to the peace because of coal mines that were prospering. My husband and a bunch of family from our generation all moved out here together and got jobs driving haul trucks:

Pay was very good $37 to start. 10 days on, 10 days off. We worked hard and then go snowboarding or camping or whatever we wanted. 2 income household is no joke. The funny thing is, all of the family that moved out here bought houses except us. The town was packed, rent was insanely expensive. Then the mines shut down with no notice. lol. American company pulled out and is trying to file bankruptcy so it doesnt have to pay us. We stayed, everyone else left and now my husband drives like the semi trucks that haul gas and other frightening fluids. Thats where the money is right now. There is a very high demand for class 1 commercial drivers.

They do. There's a crapton of different flavors. It's just too sugary though. If I want a sugary alcohol headache I'll drink cider.

You know what's REALLY good. Jack Daniels Lemonade. You can't taste the alcohol and it goes down like water. I drank 6 of them and went to order pizza. I was too drunk to order. They just brought me free pizza for effort and I cried because I didn't know what I wanted.

A; That's actually really interesting... the notion that people are still coal miners. Literally I imagine it as the old 1900s when people talk about coal mining, but it's still very much a thing.

 

Sucky about the mine shutting down (I think, there's also the notion that it sucks to work in them.) I'm sure he does, but, :Stay safe!:

Eh, it's not that bad, I'm already crazy to begin with, so it just kinda inceases that and I'm told I'm a blast to party with haha so it can't be bad.
