The boards probably won't be back up for months.. it'd be nice if they'd give more updates.
Neopets replied to a girl's comment on facebook.
Neopets HI, Lindsey! We plan on updating our fans once we have new information from our tech team. As of right now there has been nothing new to report, but we can assure you that there is a lot going on behind the scenes to make sure this does not happen again, once the boards are back up. Sorry for the confusion!
They probably said the same shit about dupes too. Didn't take too long to prove them wrong.

I'm curious if their boards/lookups "fix" will cause duping to come back, you never know these days

I'm surprised they actually responded to somebody

I wouldn't hold your breath. There's virtually no overlap between the processes that handle user input (where the filters would have effect) and the mechanisms that cause items or NP to be created/used/destroyed.

All they did was silence the account I used permanently. *psh* Like I don't have others if this happens again.
That chick on JN wanted my account frozen, well, her dream is dead. I didn't even get punished, really. A silencing? Really?

Why does everyone think Neopets is going to die? This isn't the first time Neopets has slipped up and it won't be the last. There were much worse events, like Dupe Day.
I don't mean in regards to this event, I just mean in general. I think this slip up proves jumpstart isn't going to do shit for the site, and aren't interested in putting money, staff, or resources into the bettering of the site. Downsizing so much that no one is even moderating the boards on the weekend anymore is a bad sign.

Silencing is seriously no different than icing. I'd delete my account if I were silenced. And I agree, all they care about is getting the team to be smaller and making things more difficult. I wish they would give a timespan so my pathetic self doesn't have to keep checking back. There's absolutely nothing to do on neo.

Not everyone cares about neoboards, so silecing is way different than icing. I wouldn't mind getting silenced.

I would on my main because like I like to read the drama when there is some. I don't care if it's on an account I only login to for the AC. Literally. That account has been sitting there for over a year now just waiting for me to use it for the AC. And now that the AC is done, it will sit there for another year.

Doesn't silencing prevent you from posting anything period, like a wishlist on trades? Getting stupid offers every time you put something up because idiots think that no wishlist == offer crap is more aggravating.

It does. And you can't nemail them to tell them to knock it off. And blocking doesn't prevent people from being to offer on your trades, I don't think. Still, the biggest issue of a silence for a large amount of people would be the being unable to access the boards.

Yeah, but you could transfer your stuff to another shell. I mean, if you got silenced, it was because you weren't careful enough. I don't think that someone who cares about their account would let that happen, maybe a few isolated cases only.

I'm just the type of person who likes to be in guilds, avatar boards. Being silenced would ruin my experience with neo

What I'm trying to say is, if someone got silenced (permanently), it was probably because they said a lot of bad stuff, and don't care about it that much. If you like guilds and boards, you would be more careful with it.I'm just the type of person who likes to be in guilds, avatar boards. Being silenced would ruin my experience with neo

I don't even spend 1% of my time on the boards when I still played. I probably wouldn't have noticed being silenced

I haven't checked the account I used to advertise Codex and since Neo is down I'll have to wait. I'm assuming I've been silenced.

If we compare Neopets to a chicken, boards would be a cloaca.

There are much better places to chat than the Neopets boards. I wouldn't even blink if I'd been silenced.

I've honestly never laughed as much as I did reading the screenshots and boards yesterday. What a glorious time to come back to neo.
