Why is there such conflicting information then? I've read various sites saying it's semi-closed. What the actual. :/

@talbs this is from FairVote

Voters registered as independent, no party preference or members of a party without ballot recognition may vote in the partisan primary election of their choice. Voters registered in a recognized political party may vote only the primary election ballot for their political party. Ariz. Rev Stat § 16-467; Ariz. Att'y Gen. Op. No. I99-025 (R99-049)

ayo guess who used to work there :^)

Got to love when the media works themselves into a frenzy over a bird rather then actually reporting on the speeches.  Not that I'm complaining. This election is a total fiasco.

    Fuck Bush.

    Go Trump!

If I had a nickel for every time I've said "I'll vote for anybody but ___ (insert Trump or Hillary here)" this election, I'd be as rich as Trump (with a million dollar inheritance to start me out, of course).

If it's down to the two of em, I'm going Trump 2016! Make America great again...

I voted in Arizona this past Tuesday. Had to wait an hour and a half to cast a vote.

I'm just a student so this is my first election season where I can actually participate. It's not usually that bad, right?

Still hella proud of my 'I voted today' sticker.

Yeah, it's not supposed to be like that. They went from having 200 polling places which lower the time you have to spend in line waiting to 60, increasing the amount of time people would have to wait in line just to cast a vote. I can't get to my polling place since I don't have a car and I live away from it, so I'm voting by absentee ballot.

Ugh. Between that and all the independents I knew of who couldn't participate in the primary even if they wanted to, what a trainwreck.

I agree with this article. If Bernie is winning their state by 40+ points the super delegates should listen to their constituents

I agree. Look at the results from the last voting. He beat hillary in one of the states 73 to 20 something. He won all the states, the super delegates need to stop going with Hillary. This is what happened with Obama as well. Hillary was winning, then Obama started to win and the super delegates switched from Hillary to Obama. I have an odd feeling they won't listen this time though....I can't explain it, but I've got a feeling. I was really happy when I woke up this morning and read that Bernie won all the states!

I don't think they will either because they don't consider Bernie a "real democrat"

Shows just how well our voting and election system works. The regular people don't get listened to and we end up with people in the general election we don't want there, and one of them will end up being president. Yay, America! Land of the money, and home of the if you've got money you can do whatever you want.

Ironically Sander's is probably the most viable democrat in years. Compared to Clinton he's practically a socialist.

He calls himself a Democratic socialist but all my hipster socialist friends say he's not a "real socialist".

I laughed from a healthy place when they got super pressed that Kshama Sawant (a socialist Seattle council member) endorsed him.

Ooh yeaah he's a "Democraatic Socialist".  Some people seem to be supporting him BECAUSE he's a socialist, and others seem to think that denying the fact will make it untrue.   I really do hope he beats Hillary, though, even though I know that'll never happen.

    I think you're confused.

He is not viable precisely because he's almost a socialist. Americans have more distaste for socialism than any other country (for no apparent reason) and it shows in our two party system. Only democrats (free market slaves) and republicans (corporate slaves) are allowed to really run. Anyone espousing collective bargaining, collective healthcare, or anything off Hollande's platform is just shushed over here.

At least in general. Bernie has a groundswell, but the super delegates (ironically the least democratic part of a democratic primary process) don't seem to agree with his viability with a very specific voter base.

    You're right.

I hope you're also wrong about the superdelegates though, only because I want Sanders to win, and the superdelegates really fuck potential candidates. If they go against what the people want, they are gonna fuck the Democratic party and I don't think people will accept it, at least I hope.

You know, I keep hearing "people won't accept that" and I don't think they will either.  But here's the thing: Has that ever done America any good in the past century or so?  It seems like most Americans are content with just sitting back and complaining on Facebook these days, no matter how bad it gets.  I'm hoping Sanders wins too, even though I don't like some of his ways (free everything just isn't all that reasonable).  In my mind, he's the best of bad options.  If he doesn't win, though, I think we're just going to see some protests here and there and then it'll just all die down completely.  We'll be stuck with Hillary or Trump and we'll learn to cope by making anti Trump or Hillary memes and rants.  I'd like to see people "not accept it" in a way that counts, but, sadly, I just don't see that happening.

They're not free, you pay for it with higher taxes. He's presented plans that details where the money would come from. If you're interested, you should check them out, always good to be as informed as possible.

Nothing is going to happen if Bernie doesn't win the nominee. Nothing will happen if Clinton wins the election. I don't think Trump will win, so I won't include him in this hypothetical. I don't like Hillary at all, but she's not bad enough to warrant riots or anything. A Trump victory actually might incite riots, but again, I don't think it will come to that. I think a Sander's win is crucial if we want to change the direction our country is headed, but if he doesn't win, it'll just be same old same old. Of course, I would love it if his supporters kept up the enthusiasm we have now, but it's hard to keep that energy up during non-election years, especially if he's back in the Senate instead of the White House.

    Absolutely it has.

Women's right to vote, labor laws, civil rights - those are all instances of people not accepting the status quo. And it worked. We did shit. We made shit better for our neighbors and our society.

As for the comment about Facebook, eh. I disagree. Technology has assisted in connection people worldwide and that's important. And I don't know about you, but I've actually done stuff, like donate to Sanders' campaign, opened up a dialogue about the importance of the primaries and whatnot. Assuming every person who talks on their Facebook is also not doing anything is a pretty poor generalization. But I accept that level of cynicism. It's hard to hope people are taking action.

Now "free everything" - you would be incorrect. Bernie isn't hoping to give everyone "free" stuff. He's hoping to utilize our tax dollars. It's not free. We already pay for piss poor management of social programs, including welfare, law enforcement, infrastructure, etc. He wants to streamline the system and hold wealthier individuals accountable for not paying their share of the damn pie. The middle class and lower class have been carrying this nation, paying for companies like Walmart, to subsidize shitty pay because they can't be fucked to pay their employees more than 7.40 an hour. So, no. It's not free. It never has been free. And it will not be. Healthcare, infrastructure and tuition won't be free. You're already paying for all that and not getting much out of it.

You are conflating 'free' with democratic socialism - which is understandable given the amount of misinformation out there regarding what socialism actually is.
