Yeah, some fucker borrowed a buck from me to buy the tictacs, when he couldn't pay me back I took a lien on the tictacs and they were mine

on one hand you must give mad props to the ability for a tictac box to be used as a musical instrument. as a shaker, there's many ways it's percussive properties can be used to create a plethora of different rhythms. also, the light weight of the tictac box would not tire you out as shaking cyo vigorously for 10 min could. this added to the fact that tictacs come in various flavors also gives it an upper hand over cyo (who i assume only has 1 flavor - lion). finally you must look at the price and portability of the tictac. about a buck for one container, that (depending on your dependency on them) could last the normal user about a week. so we're looking at around $55 US a year. plus, you can keep the containers, and fill them with rice, beans, or other small objects and create a whole line of small hand-held percussion instruments. (experimental ensemble, anyone?)

but, on the other hand you must look at the perks of owning a cyo. i'm sure if you used him as a percussive pad, then you'd be able to make more noises, and therefore expand your possible musical range with him (i.e. have him click with his fingers while you pound a rhythm on his chest and vary this with his "wooo" sounds). and although he might be slightly more expensive to take care of (food/shelter... if you feel like it), he can probably help out with yardwork, eating weeds and ant mounts and the like. although he could be cooler if he put lens flare on his poorly draw lion, and perhaps slightly creepier if his avy were an animated gif, he's got a lot of things going for him.

if it were possible, i'd vote for cyo with his pockets full of tictacs, but since i can't (heaven forbid), i'm voting tictacs, but purely from a musician's standpoint. (he'd probably fuck up the beat eventually, and bruised tissue doesn't sound quite as interesting as crunchy candies in unison.)
