Ehh, they sound completely different. Their words may be spelled similar and they may have similar structure but they sound completely different.

Europe English and American English may have similar spelled words and similar structure but they sound completely different.

This I know and agree with... I don't see your point? You said that French and Spanish sound similar because I said I hated Spanish. Then I said; no they are spelled and structured similarly but they sound completely different.

So...... I guess I am just confused as to your point.

Je peux parler trois langue. L'anglais, Francias et Chinois. Mais je ne peux pas ecrire a chinois :(

Well... I know basic french. It served me well enough so that when I went to France I was able to get help when needed to those who didn't speak English :p

Oh, I love to learn new languages. *_*
My first language is Brazilian Portuguese, but I have been studying American English ever since I was little. Midway through my studies I fell in love with British English and changed courses, so I kind of mix up the two of them sometimes. I speak well enough, since I'm used to dealing with foreign people here, but I'm worried about my grammar mistakes because I don't write very often. Oh well.
Anyway, I also speak and write a little bit of Japanese, Spanish (school based, so it's pretty bad) and now I'm into Italian - my father is from Italy and I have family there, so it's about time I learn something.
French is a great language, I wish I knew more about it. It's nothing like Spanish in my opinion O_o

I don't know what Pig Latin means, by the way. I know it must be Latin in a weird form or something, but since we're on a language thread, is there someone who can enlighten me on this subject?

I get the feeling that Chinese will be more relevant than Arabic in the upcoming years, and yet, my former high school cut the Chinese program for Arabic. I'm legitimately frustrated by this.

Pig latin is really just taking the first one or two letters off the front of a word and putting them at the end of the word, then you add the sound "ay" at the back. For instance,

    Ymay amenay siay Oannajay.
(my name is JoAnna) (I bolded the first letter of each word)

    Iay ovelay otay peaksay renchfay.
    (I love to speak french)

At least that is how I learned it.

With all due respect to the Portuguese language, to me it sounds like someone yawning while speaking Spanish. Or at least that's what it sounds like when I hear Anderson Silva in his post-fight interviews.

Oh, I understand. There are things like that here, but there's no definite name to specify. Thank you ^_^

LOL. Well, I think it depends on the person who's speaking it. Which type of fights are those?

Spanish seems close to Portuguese, but actually you can make some embarrassing mistakes when trying to improvise.
