Practicing with some tutorials until inspiration decides to strike. I think the placement looks slightly off...

SoTW for another site. This is my first tag in a while, and the stock was hell to work with... excuses aside I think it's halfway decent.

Questions concerning college.

Aside from getting high marks in school, what are other ways to improve my chances to getting into a good college? I plan on joining extracurricular activities next year as a junior and I've heard that joining community college classes during the summer can save me a lot of money, and I think that something like that would be in my favor when applying for colleges, right? I'm pretty foggy on the details so if anybody could help me out I would really appreciate it. I've set up a meeting with my guidance counselor at my school but it's not for another week.
Thanks in advance.

Help me lose some weight.

I've gained some pounds over the last two or three years and I've never really been too serious about burning it off until now. Now I know what the differences between cardio and resistance training are but I was wondering if anyone could supply some tips or workout routines for either of them. I've gotten quite a few different answers on how long each workout session should last (be it cardio or resistance training) so I was wondering if anybody could help clarify on that. I'm pretty sure I've got a decent grasp on all of the nutritional stuff, how to eat and what to eat and all of that good stuff but any additional comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
